Writing Task 2 E

The document argues that increasing fuel prices is an effective solution to global environmental issues. It suggests that higher fuel costs will reduce consumption and encourage the use of less polluting transportation alternatives, ultimately helping to mitigate global warming. Additionally, it posits that higher fuel prices could decrease harmful industrial processes and emissions, benefiting public health.

*The best way to solve the world’s environmental problems is to increase the price of

fuel. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is sometimes argued that the price of fuel should be increased by the governments in order
to solve the world’s environmental issues. In my opinion, I absolutely agree with this idea.
Firstly, the argument in favour of the growth of the price of fuel would be that if the
governments raise the cost of fuel, consumption will be reduced significantly. If their means
of powering up private vehicles become less affordable, people will have to resort to
transportation alternatives which produce lower amounts of pollutants. Therefore, global
warming will also cut down and essentially, making fuel more expensive may be considered
an appropriate measure to tackle environmental problems
Secondly, if the increased cost of fuel comes into effect, the industrial processes such as
extraction or refinement may completely decrease. Moreover, the number of harmful fumes
stem from many factories also moderate so that the contamination which is caused by those
factories will solve a limited part of the effect on the impact on people's health.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that rising up the cost of fossil fuels will be a great solution
to solve the world’s environmental problems.
