Technical Interview tips

Tip #1: Verbalize your thoughts while you’re solving a problem. They don’t know what
you’re thinking or where you’re going with your solution unless you let them know. By
thinking out loud you’ll give them an idea AND they’ll be able to give you hints to steer
you in the right direction if necessary. Check out our LinkedIn Campus webinar to see a

Tip #2: Ask for clarifications or requirements before coding so that you can understand
what exactly is the problem that you’re trying to solve.

Tip #3: Find and fix your bugs using pointers, edge cases, abstraction, unit test or
others.

Tip #4: Review your data structures and the libraries for them in your language(s) of
choice, particularly paying attention to their limitations.

Tip #5: You will be assessed on both speed as well as quality of the solution, so take
enough time that you can provide a clean and elegant solution, but don’t take too much
time to think through the problem because they might be looking to get through a couple
different problems (so try not to spend the entire call on solving just one).
