Answer: LibreOffice Writer provides different types of tools to apply predefined style or formatting in a document.
This style or formatting helps to maintain uniformity in font size, font face, spacing, heading or overall layout in the
documents. There are six different types of Styles in LibreOffice Writer: (a) Paragraph Styles, (b) Character Styles, (c)
Page Styles, (d) Frame Styles, (e) List Styles and (f) Table Styles.
There are several ways to open Style and Formatting window in LibreOffice –
1. Click on Format > Styles > Manage Style
2. To open style and formatting window press F11
3. Using Sidebar Menu
4. Using Style Drop Down list box from toolbar
2. What do you mean by the Fill Format tool in LibreOffice Writer and how you will apply the same style
to multiple sections quickly.
Answer: Fill format is a quick method to apply the same style in different locations in the document. In Manual
formatting every time we have to select the text and we have to apply the style which takes a lot of time. Instead of
manual method we can use the Fill Format method to apply the style quickly.
Apply the same style to multiple sections quickly using following steps –
• Step 1: Open LibreOffice Writer
• Step 2: Open Style window
• Step 3: Select the paragraph where the style will be copy
• Step 4: Click on Fill Format button
• Step 5: Take the mouse pointer to the desired location and apply the style.
• Step 6: Repeat step 5 until all the changes have been made

Steps to create a Table of Content in LibreOffice Writer are –
To create a Table of content in the document first you have to use paragraph styles for headings such as
main sections will be Heading 1, subsections will be Heading 2 vice versa.
• Step 1: Click on Insert > Table of Contents and Index
• Step 2: Select Table of Contents, Index or Bibliography
• Step 3: Click on Entries options in ToC
• Step 4: Customize Structure and Formatting
• Step 5: Click on OK
4. Write the steps for inserting image in the LibreOffice Writer and write the difference between resize
image and text wrapping option in the document.
Answer: LibreOffice Writer allows to insert image, charts, diagrams and shapes using various tools. In LibreOffice
writer can insert images using various ways such as using drag and drop, using dialog box or using cut and copy
option.
Inserting Image using image option are –
Step 1: Click on Insert > Image from menu bar
Step 2: Select the image file
Step 3: Click on Open button to insert image
• Resize Image – Resizing Image allows to change the dimensions of the image (height and width), resizing
image can maintain aspect ratio.
• Text Wrapping – It allows the text to flows around the image and manage the positioning of the image to
the text.
5. What do you mean by track change and why track change options are used in
documents? How you will use accept or reject the changes option in LibreOffice Writer.
Answer: Track Changes is used when multiple people are working on a single document and helps to
keep a track of the editing being done by other users. Track change ensures transparency about the person
who made the changes, It makes it easy for authors to see the suggestions without losing the original text
and the accept and reject change option can be used for canceling or accepting any changes in the
document.
We can use following steps to accept or reject the changes in the documents –
• Step 1: Click on Accept Track Change/ Reject Track Change button
• Step 2: To navigate between the changes, Click on Previous Track Changes and Next Track Changes.
• Step 3: Select Accept All Tracked Changes / Reject All Tracked Changes button respectively.

6. How you will use consolidate data features in LibreOffice calc to summarize the data in a
single worksheet that will show the average marks of each student.
Answer: Consolidate data feature allows to combine data from different sheets and summarize into one place.
Steps to use consolidate data feature in LibreOffice calc are –
• Step 1: Open a Workbook
• Step 2: Create a new sheet where the data has to combine
• Step 3: Click on Data > Consolidate option
• Step 4: Select the function from drop down menu
• Step 5: Add Source data ranges
• Step 6: Click on check button “Copy results to”
• Step 7: Click on “Copy result to” and specify the address where you want to copy the result

Answer: A macro is a single instruction that can be used multiple times and helps to save time.
This set of instructions can be a sequence of commands or keystrokes that can be used for any
number of times later.
Follow the following steps to record a macro –
• Step 1: Click on Tools > Macros > Record Macro
• Step 2: Start doing actions which you want to record
• Step 3: After completion of your actions, Click on Save Macro
• Step 4: Change the name of Macro
• Stet 5: Click on Save button
9. Explain the steps how you will create What-if Scenarios in LibreOffice Calc.
Answer: What if scenarios is used to compare different alternatives depending on the changing
conditions.
Steps for creating Scenarios in LibreOffice Calc are –
• Step 1: Select the cells where you want to apply scenarios
• Step 2: Click Tools > Scenarios
• Step 3: Enter name of Scenarios
• Step 4: Click Ok Button
10. Explain the steps how you will create Goal Seek in LibreOffice Calc.
Answer: To create a Goal Seek in LibreOffice Calc:
1. Enter the Data
2. Enter the formula in a cell.
3. Go to Tools > Goal Seek.
4. In the Goal Seek dialog box, set the 'Formula Cell' to the cell containing the formula.
5. Set the 'Target Value' to the desired result.
6. Set the 'Variable Cell' to the cell that you want to change to achieve the target value.
7. Click OK to see the result.

Part 1: Creating Tables
11. Create a database named School_Data in LibreOffice Base.
Answer: Steps to create school database in LibreOffice Base
1. Open LibreOffice Base.
2. Select "Create a new database" and click "Next".
3. Ensure "Yes, register the database for me" is checked (optional but useful for linking), then click
"Finish".
4. Save your database file as “School_Data.odb” in a suitable location.

(i) Create a table named STUDENT_INFO using the Design View with the following fields
and data types, ensuring the RollNo field is set as the Primary Key:
1. In the main database window, click on the Tables icon in the left pane.
2. Click "Create Table in Design View...".
3. Add the field names and data types as specified in the assignment table.
4. Right-click on the RollNo field name and select Primary Key (a key icon will appear next to it).
5. Go to File > Save, name the table STUDENT_INFO, and click OK.
6. Close the Design View window.
OUTPUT:
(ii) Create a second table named MARKS using the Wizard.
1. In the main database window, click "Use Wizard to Create Table...".
2. In the Wizard, ignore the sample tables for this task and simply click "Next".
3. Manually type in the field names (RollNo, Sub1_Marks, etc.) and ensure the correct data types are
selected from the drop-down menu for each field (Text for Grade/Phone, Integer for numbers, Date
for DOB).
4. Click "Next" through the remaining screens.
5. Name the table MARKS and ensure "Set a primary key" is selected (you can let Base add an auto-
value ID field or set RollNo manually if you are careful).
6. Click "Finish".

13. Establish a relationship (one-to-one or one-to-many, as appropriate) between the
STUDENT_INFO table (using RollNo as Primary Key) and the MARKS table (using RollNo
as Foreign Key) to maintain referential integrity.
1. From the main menu bar in the main Base window, go to Tools > Relationships....
2. A window opens. Click the "Add Tables" icon (or drag tables from the list that appears
automatically). Add both STUDENT_INFO and MARKS tables. Close the 'Add Tables' dialog.
3. Click and drag the RollNo field from the STUDENT_INFO table and drop it onto the RollNo field
in the MARKS table.
4. A dialog box appears confirming the link (One-to-Many relationship). Click OK to create the
relationship.
5. Save the relationships by clicking the Save icon (diskette) in the relationships window, then close
the window.

Part 2: Queries

(i) Using the Query Design View, create a query to display the Name, RollNo,
and Total marks of all students whose Total marks are greater than 70.

Steps to Create Queries using Design View
1. Click on the Queries icon in the left pane.
2. Click "Create Query in Design View...".
3. Add the necessary tables (STUDENT_INFO and/or MARKS). Close the "Add Tables"
dialog.
Query 1 (Total > 70):
1. Double-click Name, RollNo, and Total to add them to the bottom grid.
2. In the Total column's Criterion row, type >70.
3. Run the query (Run Query icon or F5).
4. Save the query as Q_HighMarks.
OUTPUT:
(ii) Using the Query Wizard, create a query to display the Name, Class, and Section of
students whose Name starts with the letter 'A'.
Step to Create Query using Wizard
1. Click on the Queries icon.
2. Click "Use Wizard to Create Query...".
Query 2 (Name starts with 'A'):
(i) Select the STUDENT_INFO table and move Name, Class, and Section to the
"Fields in the query" list.
(ii) Click "Next".
(iii) In the "Search conditions" section, select Name, choose the condition "like", and
in the value box type 'A%' (The '%' is a wildcard).
(iv) Click "Next" through the remaining screens.
(v) Name the query Q_NamesStartingWithA and click "Finish".
(iii)Using the Query Design View, create a query to calculate and display the
maximum and minimum marks obtained in Sub1_Marks.
Query 3 (Max/Min Marks):
1. Clear the previous query design (File > New > Query in Design View or modify the
current one).
2. Add the MARKS table.
3. Double-click Sub1_Marks.
4. Click the Function dropdown in the grid for this column and select Max.
5. Add Sub1_Marks again to the grid, and select the Min function for that column.
6. Run and save as Q_MaxMinSub1.
Part 3: Forms and Reports
15.
(i) Write Steps to Create a Form (Wizard) and Enter Data.
1. Click on the Forms icon in the left pane.
2. Click "Use Wizard to Create Form...".
3. Select the STUDENT_INFO table and move all available fields to the "Fields in the form" list.
4. Click "Next" through the various styling and layout options, choosing a layout you prefer.
5. Name the form F_StudentInfoEntry.
6. Ensure "Open the form for entering data" is selected and click "Finish".
7. Enter Data: Use the navigation buttons at the bottom of the form to add at least 5 complete student records.
Close the form when done.
(ii)Write the steps to Create a Report using Wizard
1. Click on the Reports icon in the left pane.
2. Click "Use Wizard to Create Report...".
3. Select the tables/queries containing Name, RollNo, Total Marks, and Grade (you might need to link tables
within the wizard, or use a query that joins them). Move the required fields to the "Fields in the report" list.
4. Click "Next".
5. Grouping: Select Class and use the arrow to set it as a grouping level.
6. Sorting: Set the primary sort order to Name (Ascending).
7. Click "Next" through layout options.
8. Name the report R_StudentMarksSummary and click "Finish". The report will generate and open for viewing.
