SOFT SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM FOR
DIGITAL LITERACY
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The modern workplace demands more than just technical competence, it requires strong interpersonal communication,
adaptability, and the ability to operate confidently in the digital environment. With the rapid integration of technology into
daily work processes, individuals must not only be proficient in using digital tools but also understand the importance of
online safety and data protection.
INTRODUCTION
The SODES Digital Literacy Program is a flagship initiative dedicated to empowering school students with essential digital
skills for the 21st century. Recognizing that technology is now inseparable from education, communication, and career
growth, this program seeks to bridge the digital divide by providing practical training in digital tools, internet usage, and
online safety.
Specially designed for students in Madhya Pradesh, the program ensures inclusive access to transformative learning
experiences that promote responsible and productive use of technology. It supports the Government of India’s vision of
Digital India and aligns with SODES’s social mission of building informed, connected, and cyber-aware citizens.
This training programme is designed as a comprehensive 10-day learning initiative aimed at equipping participants with three
essential skill areas-soft skills, digital literacy, and cybersecurity awareness. Through a mix of structured instructor-led
sessions, self-paced learning materials, and practical exercises, participants will gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-
on application. The programme’s inclusion of a strict verification process-via photo and video checks-ensures transparency,
authenticity, and credibility of participation.
OBJECTIVES
• Enhancing Soft Skills – To significantly improve participants’ interpersonal and professional capabilities, focusing
on communication, active listening, teamwork, leadership qualities, adaptability, problem-solving, and workplace
etiquette. These skills will empower participants to perform effectively in professional settings and adapt to evolving
work environments.
• Strengthening Digital Literacy – To equip participants with a strong foundation in computer operations, internet
navigation, and the use of essential online tools and platforms. The aim is to make participants confident in using
digital resources for work, learning, and daily life, thereby bridging the digital divide.
• Building Cybersecurity Awareness – To educate participants about the fundamentals of cybersecurity, enabling
them to identify potential online threats, protect their personal and professional information, and adopt safe digital
habits. Special emphasis will be placed on practical safety measures and responsible online behaviour.
• Delivering Accessible, Short-Term Skill Enhancement – To design and implement a structured, 10-day training
programme that is intensive yet easy to follow, ensuring inclusivity for participants from diverse educational and
socio-economic backgrounds.
• Ensuring Transparent and Efficient Processes – To maintain high standards of credibility by implementing robust
enrollment and verification measures, accurate attendance tracking, and fair assessments, followed by instant
certification for successful candidates. These processes will be supported by both manual and digital systems to
ensure accountability.
