CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION
1.1 About the topic
In today's fast-paced and interconnected world, where smartphones have become extensions of
our hands and social media platforms are our daily companions, it's hard to deny the profound
impact of digital marketing. Gone are the days when businesses relied solely on traditional
advertising methods like billboards, print ads, and TV commercials to reach their audience.
The digital revolution has ushered in a new era of marketing, one that is reshaping the way
companies promote their products and engage with consumers.
Digital marketing, in its essence, encompasses all marketing efforts that use an electronic
device or the internet. It's a broad term that includes a variety of online channels such as
websites, search engines, social media, email, and mobile apps. The allure of digital marketing
lies in its ability to reach a global audience instantly and efficiently. Let's delve deeper into the
impact it has had in our current era.
First and foremost, digital marketing has democratized advertising. In the past, only big
corporations with hefty budgets could afford prime-time TV slots or full-page newspaper ads.
This left smaller businesses at a disadvantage. However, with digital marketing, even the
smallest startup can compete on a level playing field. A well-crafted social media campaign or
a cleverly optimized website can generate significant visibility and customer engagement
without breaking the bank.
One of the pillars of digital marketing is search engine optimization (SEO). SEO is the practice
of optimizing your website's content to rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs). In
simpler terms, it's about making sure your website appears at the top when someone searches
for relevant keywords. This has revolutionized how businesses are discovered by potential
customers. Nowadays, when people are looking for information, products, or services, they
turn to search engines like Google. If your website isn't optimized for search, you might as well
be invisible. This has made SEO an essential tool for businesses to increase their online
visibility and reach their target audience.
Another game-changer in the digital marketing landscape is social media. Platforms like
Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn have become virtual marketplaces where
businesses can interact directly with their customers. These platforms have given rise to
influencer marketing, where individuals with a significant online following promote products
or services. It's like having a trusted friend recommend a product, which can be incredibly
persuasive for consumers. Social media also allows for highly targeted advertising, where
businesses can tailor their messages to specific demographics, interests, and behaviors. This
level of precision was unimaginable in traditional advertising.
Email marketing is yet another powerful tool in the digital marketing arsenal. Sending
newsletters, promotions, and updates directly to a customer's inbox is a personal and effective
way to nurture customer relationships. When done right, email marketing can boost brand
loyalty and drive sales. The ability to track open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates
provides valuable insights for businesses to refine their email campaigns and make them more
compelling.
Moreover, the advent of mobile devices has further intensified the impact of digital marketing.
With the majority of internet traffic coming from smartphones and tablets, businesses must
ensure their websites and content are mobile-friendly. Mobile apps have also opened up new
avenues for marketing, with push notifications and location-based marketing becoming
commonplace. This level of accessibility allows businesses to engage with consumers
wherever they are, whether it's at home, at work, or on the go.
Data and analytics are at the heart of digital marketing's success. The ability to track and
measure the performance of marketing campaigns in real-time provides businesses with
invaluable insights. They can see which strategies are working and which need adjustment.
This data-driven approach allows for continuous improvement and optimization of marketing
efforts, ensuring that every dollar spent yields the best possible return on investment.
In conclusion, the impact of digital marketing in the current era cannot be overstated. It has
revolutionized the way businesses connect with their audience, levelled the playing field for
small and large enterprises alike, and provided tools and insights that were once unimaginable.
As we navigate the ever-evolving digital landscape, it's clear that the role of digital marketing
will only continue to grow in importance. It's not just a trend; it's a fundamental shift in how
we promote, engage, and succeed in the business world. In the pages that follow, we will delve
deeper into the various facets of digital marketing, exploring its strategies, challenges, and the
future it holds for businesses in the digital age.
1.2 About the Industry
The digital marketing industry has become the cornerstone of modern business promotion and
customer engagement. In an era defined by digital transformation, where online interactions
shape consumer behavior, this industry is at the forefront of change.
Digital marketing encompasses a wide array of online channels and strategies. From search
engine optimization (SEO) to social media marketing, email campaigns, content marketing,
and pay-per-click advertising, businesses have an extensive toolkit at their disposal. These
channels offer diverse ways to reach and engage with target audiences.
Data is the lifeblood of digital marketing. Through analytics tools, businesses can track user
behavior, campaign performance, and customer demographics in real-time. This data-driven
approach allows for informed decision-making and continuous optimization of marketing
efforts.
Digital marketing enables businesses to create highly personalized experiences for consumers.
Through the use of data, businesses can tailor their messages and offers to individual
preferences and behaviors, increasing the likelihood of conversion and brand loyalty.
The proliferation of smartphones has shifted the digital marketing landscape. Mobile marketing
strategies, such as mobile apps and location-based advertising, have gained prominence.
Businesses must ensure mobile compatibility to tap into this vast user base.
High-quality content has emerged as a cornerstone of successful digital marketing. Engaging
blog posts, videos, infographics, and social media updates not only attract and retain audiences
but also enhance a brand's authority and credibility.
Search engine optimization continues to evolve. Algorithms change, and staying atop search
engine rankings requires adaptability. Voice search and mobile optimization have added new
dimensions to SEO strategies.
Social media platforms are pivotal in the digital marketing ecosystem. They offer opportunities
for organic engagement and targeted advertising. Influencer marketing, where individuals with
a substantial online following promote products, is a testament to the power of social media.

Logo
As the logo is the starting letter of Searckey – ‘S’ but still there is a deep message hidden behind
it. A logo without a message is not considered to be perfect. As the logo should also convey
some message that could be understood by the clients or customers. A logo should be simple
to understand, scalable, impactful, versatile & relevant. Logo itself means any design or symbol
that a company uses as its special sign.
Targeting the right customers
Searckey targets Indian & foreign clients in the 17-35 age gathering. The main audience
targeted on social media includes entrepreneurs, digital marketers, graphic designers, business
owners, startups, investors, sales sector etc. Their intended interest group contains the
individuals who are technically knowledgeable, have their own business running (virtual and
non- virtual), startups, marketers, confused ones with how to establish social presence. Most
of Searckey clients are of foreign and some Indians. They are very much clear about their
services are do target the audience according to it.
Marketing
Being a player in the competitive market, it is necessary that the Searckey reaches out to a
greater number of people. It is more important that people should first know about the company
and then they should try to let people know about the products/ services that they offer.
Social Media Presence
As the presence of people is increasing on social media, targeting the customers on social media
is a good option. Searckey has a vast presence on Social media including Facebook, Instagram,
YouTube, Clubhouse and LinkedIn. While browsing through the feeds on Facebook, YouTube,
and Instagram, customers come across a lot of company pages as well as the company
generated content in the form of posts, images, and videos. The inclusion of Searckey material
at such a place helps them a lot. Their Instagram pages majorly contain images and videos
generated by their content team because people are more interested in this content on these
platforms, whereas YouTube contains the videos as YouTube is mainly for the broader
explanation of a particular concept.
They are about to launch a product mainly for freelancer on NOTION. To attract the target
audience, Searckey takes help from the hashtags as it creates you form a social buzz on social
media.
As we can see in the above figure, the majority of the users lie on platforms such as Facebook,
YouTube and Instagram followed by LinkedIn, Tik-tok (banned), Pinterest and Twitter.
Choosing Instagram the best fit for the audience is because, in this social media platform
majorly have the youth generations, startups and accounts of online stores so as a marketing
agency through the help of marketing strategies we can target majority of such audience by
posting regularly valuable content that shows the skills and knowledge we have as an agency,
engaging so that we could get in touch of a wider audience and so many ways to trigger the
audience in a much specified manner.
But having hands on only Instagram is not enough, in order to trigger more audience, we had
to move to other platforms as well. Facebook, YouTube & LinkedIn were the other such
platforms which we targeted as well. We ran Facebook ads campaigns, Analytics and other
such methods in order to reach to a wider audience.
Facing Competition on Social Media Platforms
As we are not a monopoly, there are various competitors as well out there. The main
competition lies with the services, as there are many other agencies and coaches who do provide
kind of same service so being ahead of them really matters. in this situation the quality of
service plays a very crucial role. Adding more and more value to the services really helps a lot
in meeting the satisfaction of the client or the customer. After giving out the services it’s really
important to take their feedbacks and upload it as your testimonials. These testimonials play a
vital role in making trust among the audience regarding the quality of service.
Having more positive testimonials helps building trust thus resulting in more clients. But
having a rivalry competition in social platform does not work, here healthy competition is
encouraged. By supporting each other in their good and bad days really helps a lot in building
good relationship which eventually increases for goodwill among the social platforms resulting
in more reach.
Another important thing here is also to use effective CTAs (Call-To-Action). We try to use
CTAs which are better than other and are really effective. Basically, CTA refers to the next step
a marketer wants its audience or reader to take. A CTA should be obvious and should
immediately follow the marketing message.
So, it is really important to have healthy competition, quality service, positive response &
testimonials, good relationship and connections and last but not the least effective CTAs.
1.4 Learnings from Internship
Key learning is a way to grab the skills, knowledge, values and understanding an intern will acquire for
a particular outcome in a unit of learning. Basically, it means that during the internship what I as an
intern, have learned during the whole-time frame. An internship provides a lot of stuffs from which an
intern could learn from. It also provides experience to an intern related to how actually companies
perform. In-short key learning plays a vital role for an intern as it is the outcome which he/ she has
derived from the internship period. Gaining no experience or learning from the internship is just waste
of one’s time and effort. An objective has to be set by the intern before going towards certain task that
I will probably gain some knowledge or understandings from so and so task.

LITERATURE REVIEW
Dr.S.A. Shamsudeen Ibrahim (2018) Growing popularity of social media compelled the
marketers to think about this media along with traditional functional areas of marketing. Social
media is based primarily on the internet or cellular phone-based applications and tools to share
information among people. The number of social media user’s is more than the population of
some of the countries today. Impact of social media on marketing can be judged by comparing
marketing before social media and marketing after the introduction of social media and the
type of technologies used in social media

Alwan, M & Alshurideh, M. (2022) The current research main purpose is to examine the
effect of digital marketing on both value creation and customer satisfaction. The literature was
reviewed for the relevant existing studies to address the knowledge gap that has not been
fulfilled before by a proposed integrative model. A quantitative research approach was used in
this study to investigate the hypothesized proposed model with a survey questionnaire to collect
data from the sample of customers of telecommunication firms operating in Jordan. The
instrument was developed and customized to achieve the research objectives. With a total of
315 valid and complete returned questionnaires, the research has analyzed the data collected
by using the PLS-SEM approach to run the essential analysis procedures and test the
hypothesized statements. The results showed a significant and positive effect of digital
marketing on both value creation and customer satisfaction. The research would contribute to
providing more understanding of the issues related to this topic and filling research gaps and
provide some new knowledgeable and theoretical research implications.
GK Ayush, R Gowda, KM Rakshith Gowda(2020)The behavioural shift was predominantly
towards digital platforms and digital content, which created true opportunities for the marketers

prior research findings. The theoretical model provides a framework for organizing research
questions and hypotheses, structuring the study's analysis and interpretations.
CHAPTER 4
DATA ANALYSIS
As per the ANOVA table, significance value is greater than 0.5 meaning the scheffe's test wont
find any significant post test, other multiple comparison tests can find significant differences
(sometin even when the overall ANOVA showed no significant differences among groups.
A p-value less than 0.05 (typically ≤ 0.05) is statistically significant. It indicates strong
evidence against the null hypothesis, as there is less than a 5% probability the null is correct
(and the results are random).
A statistically significant test result (P ≤ 0.05) means that the test hypothesis is false or should
be rejected. A P value greater than 0.05 means that no effect was observed. And in the above
table it is 0.01, which is lesser than a significant value of coefficient.
A p-value higher than 0.05 (> 0.05) is not statistically significant and indicates strong evidence
for the null hypothesis. This means we retain the null hypothesis and reject the alternative
hypothesis. You should note that you cannot accept the null hypothesis, we can only reject the
null or fail to reject it. In this table the value of coefficient is more than its significant value, it
is 0.06
