MARKET RESEARCH

Growing consumer awareness of environmental sustainability and the negative

consequences of plastic pollution has been driving a notable expansion in the worldwide
demand for eco-friendly products. The market for environmentally friendly water bottles is
expected to develop at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.2% to reach USD 10.6
billion by 2025. Growing consumer health consciousness and a move toward sustainable
alternatives are driving this increase. Consumers who care about the environment, outdoor
lovers, and health-conscious people make up the target customer base for bamboo eco-
friendly water bottles. According to the book "Greener Products," 73% of millennials are
willing to pay more for sustainable products, suggesting that younger populations have a
huge market potential (Iannuzzi, 2024). Furthermore, the popularity of outdoor pursuits like
trekking and camping has raised demand for sustainable and portable hydration options.

Bamboo is becoming more and more acknowledged as a sustainable substitute for

conventional materials used in water bottle manufacturing. It is a perfect fit for eco-friendly
products because of its strength, adaptability, and quick development. Bamboo is renewable
and may be grown with little harm to the environment, in contrast to plastic, which is a
major source of pollution. Bamboo's sustainability is a key factor in the production of
environmentally friendly water bottles. According to the International Network for Bamboo
and Rattan [INBAR], 2020, bamboo can achieve maturity in three to five years and grow up
to 91 cm (35 inches) in a single day (UK). Harvesting may be completed quickly without
depleting resources thanks to this fast growth rate. Dhritiman Borah took 17 years to
develop a product that would set him apart from the competition (Karmakar, 2019).
MARKETING OF ‘ACQABAM’
At the forefront of consumer health and sustainability is ‘Acquabam’, a company that
specializes in the production of bamboo water bottles. Through focused campaigns and
strategic alliances, the marketing plan will concentrate on raising brand awareness,
improving consumer engagement, and eventually generating sales income. Acquabam's
main target market consists of 18–45-year-olds who value sustainable products and are
ecologically sensitive. This group is looking for alternatives that reflect their beliefs as they
become more conscious of the negative effects single-use plastics have on the environment
(Kotler et al., 2016). Fitness lovers and outdoor enthusiasts who appreciate long-lasting and
environmentally safe hydration options are examples of secondary markets.

Acquabam will market itself as a high-end company that prioritizes sustainability without
sacrificing design or usefulness yet providing the products at reasonable prices. Acquabam
can set itself apart from rivals in the market for reusable bottles by emphasizing the special
attributes of bamboo, such as its biodegradability and inherent antibacterial capabilities
(Crane, 2000).

The marketing strategies used by our brand will be content marketing, social media
campaigns, influencer partnerships, sustainable initiatives as well as retail partnerships. For
content marketing - It will be essential to create educational content that informs customers
about the advantages of bamboo over plastic. Videos, blog entries, and infographics can all
demonstrate how bamboo water bottles can cut down on plastic waste (Kotler et al., 2016).
Regarding social media campaigns, visibility can be increased by showcasing product usage
in diverse lifestyles on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. By encouraging consumers to
provide feedback on their experiences with Acquabam products, user-generated content
campaigns can promote community involvement and an active role in online content
publication (Ketler & Avraham, 2012). Partnering with environmentally conscious influencers
can increase brand awareness. Influencers can drive traffic to Acquabam's online store by
offering genuine endorsements that connect with their audience (Freberg et al., 2011).
Incorporating initiatives like "buy one, plant one," which involves planting a bamboo plant
for each bottle sold, will boost corporate social responsibility programs and attract eco-
conscious customers (Crane, 2000). Additionally, Product availability and exposure in
locations where target clients purchase will be increased by forming alliances with eco-
friendly shops and health food stores (Kotler et al., 2016).

Acquabam is well-positioned to greatly expand its market presence while favourably

influencing environmental sustainability by concentrating on a comprehensive marketing
strategy that makes use of content marketing, social media involvement, influencer
collaborations, sustainability initiatives, and retail collaborations.

COMPETITVE ANALYSIS
In addition to this, when market research was performed it was observed that there is
already an existence of social enterprises which have penetrated the market in a similar field
and act as the competitors of ‘Aqua Bam’. There is a severe competition in the enterprises in
manufacturing sustainable bottles as they compete to gain a market share in the UK.

Throughout the market research it was found out that Sweet bamboo and Mama bamboo
acted as the direct competitors to ‘Aqua Bam’. All these brands had a distinct characteristic
for sustainable products and targeted customers and product reviewers with comparable
products.

All these social enterprises have a goal for sustainability and causing less harm in the nature
withstand their production, but Aqua Bam is the most conscious about nature enterprise. At
Aqua Bam treating of wastage and efficient production is targeted. Moreover, these brands
are similar in promoting the water bottles made up of Bamboo, yet they all are different and
unique in each different way. Likewise, Aqua Bam has a different approach towards
production by not only using superior raw material quality but also in pricing strategy and
product portfolio of the company. Our company is using Price Penetration strategy to gain a
market share in the country. Penetration pricing is when businesses introduce a low price for
their new product or service which includes undercuts in the initial price competitors,
forcing them to match the offer or quickly apply other strategies (Brex, 2022). With
competitive price offerings, this strategy draws more attention initially which is essential for
an increase in the market share and ultimately leading an increase in our company’s
clientele.

‘AcquaBam’ uses sustainable, compostable and recycled materials to create different sizes
of water bottles. The basic raw materials consists of bamboo holding the maximum
percentage , then recyclable plastic and stainless steel. As mentioned above, we can notice
that all the other competitive brands have a higher product price setting us apart from our
company, while also keeping up with the quality of the product made in ‘AquaBam’. The
pricing set by the company is lower than the competitors as we are using price penetration
strategy as discussed above. The aim of the company is to be economical for all the
consumers and potential buyers whilst also producing high-quality eco-friendly water bottles
in sizes- 100 ML, 500 ML, 550 ML and 750 ML.
The data of the other two brands with websites (mentioned in the references) provided the
data used to generate the table and, ultimately, the graph. The information was summarized
and visually arranged for easier comprehension and reference.

Analysing the amount of sustainable material utilized represents another kind of art, where
sustainability must be expressed in terms of output and numbers. However, looking at the
resources that these brands use to make their products may be in line with the concepts of
sustainable development and policies. The bottle's price is set too high for consumers to
purchase Sweet Bamboo products making the consumer think twice before buying. Despite
being a crucial piece of information, the consumer is not given access to the raw material
proportion. Additionally, Mama Bamboo only provides a limited volume of water bottles and
charges a price that is high enough for every consumer to afford. Despite the fact that every
manufacturer is making sustainable water bottles, AquaBam stands out since they guarantee
that 90% of their resources will be used effectively to produce these water bottles, which
come in a variety of sizes.

Moreover, the pricing of a brand is set very economical and reasonable while using price
penetration strategy, which is also another advantage of our product gaining more market.
