ACTIVITY 1
Leader
 Teachers fulfill many roles in today’s world and one of the most important is the role of
a leader. Teacher leadership occurs every day in the classroom and provides an
environment that enriches the lives of not only the students but all of the professionals
with whom they come in contact.
Trustworthy
 One of the characteristics of teachers should be trustworthy. There is no denying that
teachers are the second parents of school children. Often, children share their bitter
experiences or problems with them. So as a teacher you can be trusted at any time.
Understanding
 The teacher who understands the situation of his/her students is One of the best
teachers. He/She should not look at what his/her eyes can only see, but also knows
how to put oneself in the position of his/her students.
Creative
 The creative teacher approaches problems as a challenge to try out new experiences. It
has a mindset open to changes and unexpected [Link], these types of
teachers identify more with the students and are more empathetic, knowing their skills,
strengths and weaknesses. They also motivate students to strive and learn more.
Open minded
 An open mind teacher has the willingness to consider experiences, beliefs, values,
perspectives, etc. that differ from one's own--allows the learner to explore how diverse
people across the world think and act. Open-mindedness creates opportunities to
rethink assumptions, identify misinformation, and consider alternative ways to make
decisions.
 ACTIVITY 2
Since our elementary days, we have known many teachers who have been imprinted on our
minds as to who they are. Some of them are friendly, some are terror teachers and there are
also funny ones. For me an ideal teacher is one who knows how to look at the reality of life.
even if he is not very smart, but he can catch the tickle of his students. I also don't want a
teacher who is so arrogant, and the one who is so naughty that you can hardly approach
him/her in times of needs. I also don't want a teacher whoi is too kind and humnle because
children often don't respect them. Whether we admit it or not, many students take advantage
of too kind teachers. And those are the characteristics of once being my teacher, So I took The
education course. I had a dream that if I became a teacher, I would be faithful to my duty even
without replacement, because I was once motivated to do it, and I will continue to be
motivated.
 LESSON 2

ACTIVITY 1
Teaching is not just a profession, it should be utilized as a powerful way of touching the
lives of the children, always uncompromising in giving the right directions and always doing
what is best to inculcate not just the usual lessons taught in school but also essential knowledge
that could be utilized in helping students become responsible citizens in the years to come.

At a glance, effectiveness and efficiency in teaching is quite confusing but upon analyzing,
you will find out that these two qualities are related and both are important in teaching. But
have you ever stopped to ask yourself – Am I being effective, or just being efficient? The first
thing to clarify is the difference between being efficient and being effective.

When you say a teacher is efficient, a teacher can exhibit efficiency in the manner she gets
things done, how she manages her class and her time in getting things done. A good example
wherein a teacher can be called efficient is when she always comes to her class (and leave) on
time, with well-prepared lesson plan, instructional materials, engaged time on task, and
everything is organized regardless of output or result produced in the teaching-learning
process. You get through your to-do list quickly and, in any given task, you eliminate time-
wasters.

On the contrary, when you say a teacher is effective, a teacher is effective when she gives her
best in teaching and able to make her students learn or master the skills and turned them
meaningful, relevant and applicable in real life situations. She is a teacher who reaches out to
her pupils and can make a difference in their lives. You eliminate time-wasting activities or
“busy work” from your day.

Another way to look at this is to think of effectiveness as the big picture. If you want to be truly
effective, you need to think about what your values are and what you want to achieve in your
life. This is hard work – and it’s the sort of work where you don’t get to show off an empty
inbox or a neatly filed set of papers at the end of it. But it’s absolutely essential to do this big-
picture thinking if you’re ever going to accomplish anything meaningful.

ACTIVITY 1

ACTIVITY LESSON PLAN

Year Level: Grade 7

Topic: Counting Syllables

Time: 30 mins

Objectives:

The students will indicate the number of syllables they hear in a word. The students will also
visualize the movement of syllables in word to create nonsense word.

Materials:

 Plastic counter chips or any other appropriate counters such as pennies, colored discs,
or small manipulatives
 A flat surface on which the students can move their counters
 Word list for the teacher

Lesson:

The students each have a set of chips and a flat surface in front of them. Place a set of chips in
front of yourself. Review syllables and syllable counting. Then

1. Say, "I am going to call out a word and I want you to show me how many syllables are in
the word by selecting a chip for each syllable. Move the chips up and place them in a
line from left to right.
2. Call out the word "TODAY" pushing two chips to the line to represent the syllables, "TO-
DAY". Have the students move their chips in the same manner.
3. Ask the students to place a finger on a first chip and say "TO". Then ask them to replace
a finger on the second chip and say "DAY".
4. Instruct the students to love the first chip to the other side of the second chip and call
out the silly word they have created, "DAYTO"
5. Continue the lesson using different words.

ACTIVITY 2

"When I Become a Teacher"

Being a teacher is not an easy task,

Some of them sometimes won't last.
Because the bad attitude of the students inside the class,
That made them cry and giving up so fast

I do believe I will also encounter it,

But by the call of duty I must to accept it.
And my goal to change them that I want to meet,
I think it will work by doing it bit by bit.

I want to be part of my students' lives,

I will be their mentor to make them successful.
And I will do my best to teach what is the best,
I will do it for them, that's what I wished

I have so many dreams in my life since before,

That I want to teach students and inspire them all.
And now I am almost in my goal,
When I become a teacher I will do it all.

ACTIVITY 1
It is important because teacher effectiveness plays an important role in teaching learning
process. An effective teacher does not create image of the students rather help the students to
create the image of their own by understanding the problems of the students and helping them
by making any subject interesting, by controlling the class and by being fair with the students
while dealing with them. The effective teachers are the avenues of effective teaching who
consistently achieve their goals that are either directly or indirectly related to student learning
and the strategies adopted for achieving this purpose needs orientation and reorientation with
changing needs and priorities in teacher education. Effective teachers are the most important
factor contributing to student achievement. Although curricula, reduced class size, district
funding, family and the community involvement all contribute to school improvement and
student achievement, the most influential factor is the teacher. Choosing effective teachers is
critically important for schools trying to improve their performance. Effective teachers exhibit
certain skills and qualifications. These include verbal ability, knowledge of special needs and
content knowledge of specific subjects to be taught. Instructional planning, allocating time for
academics, keeping students engaged, using appropriate instructional strategies, monitoring
learning and differentiating learning for individual students are all important characteristics of
an effective teacher. Effective teachers have a thorough knowledge of their subject content and
skills. Through this, they inspire in their students a love of learning. They also understand how
students best learn concepts, content and skills. Effective teachers use their knowledge of
learning processes to determine which will be the most effective to help the particular students
in their classes learn successfully. Effective teachers closely monitor each student’s
achievements. This enables them to provide every one of their students with regular feedback
on their performance.
 M ODULE 5

ACTIVITY 1
Every thing in this world has a limit to which not everything can be done as we please. Similarly
in teaching, there are things a teacher should and should not do to protect honor and
reputation. It is necessary for a teacher to serve as a mirror for the youth to emulate to be a
good citizen. It is important to avoid being a part of any scandal especially between both
teachers and students, and should not be violent in its constituencies especially children. And
it is only right that the teacher insist on what he/she wants just to make his/he students suffer.
and most of all, the teacher should be prepared and have learned the lesson before he/she is
going to teach so that he/she will not be embarrassed by his/her students.

ACTIVITY 1

One of the best teachers I have ever encountered while studying, is My college teacher, and She
is Ma'am Fanny. She is an example of an understanding teacher. She captures the feelings of
every student she teaches, because you can consider her as a mother too. She is the teacher
who is open minded in everything, she also knows how to look at whatever your status in life.
For us she is the inspiration to overcome all the trials that come in our lives. She helped us reach
our dreams in life even more. Her experiences while she was still studying, motivated not only
me, but also my classmates too, that poverty is not an obstacle or hindrance for us to achieve
our dreams in life. Everything she taught us will be an inspiration for us to share with others who
also dreaming a successful life. And for me, I want to inspire other too.
 ACTIVITY 2
The effective teacher is a coach or guide who helps students to improve on their skills
and insights. By neither letting them flounder nor prematurely offering assistance, the
effective teacher enables students to own their own successes and to learn from their
mistakes.

ACTIVITY 1
Being an effective teacher is very important because you consider not only the welfare of the
students but also their future. It doesn't matter how tired you are even if you invest a lot of
money as long as it meets the needs of the students they need in their studies to learn. Here,
you do not need to be smart to be an effective teacher, but what you need is determination
and perseverance to do your duties even without the replacement or an award to say that you
are an effective teacher.

If you are an effective teacher you will know all the problems of every student who needs
immediate help. This way you can prevent the wrong paths they are taking, and you will also
learn to investigate what their conditions are, because they are reporting to you all their
problems. And if you are an effective teacher, you can empathize with them. And also one of
the important roles of an effective teacher is that, you can identify the attitudes that your
students have. By doing this, you will know how to get along with them and how to deal with
them. Here you will have an idea of what methods you will use for them to be more attentive
and active to your lesson.

So it is very important to be an effective teacher because it plays a big role in the lives of
students especially for their bright future. And to change their wrong view of our society, and
avoid their wrong paths.
