infinity to be zero.
43. A battery of emf 10 V and internal resistance 3 is connected to a resistor. If the
current in the circuit is 0.5 A, what is the resistance of the resistor? What is the
terminal voltage of the battery when the circuit is closed?
44. A series LCR circuit with R = 20 , L = 1.5 H and C = 35 F is connected to a
variable-frequency 200 V ac supply. When the frequency of the supply equals the
natural frequency of the circuit,
(a) What is the impedance of the circuit?
(b) What is the rms value of current in the circuit?
(c) what is the average power transferred to the circuit in one complete cycle?
45. Double-convex lenses are to be manufactured from a glass of refractive index
1.55, with both faces of the same radius of curvature. What is the radius of
curvature required if the focal length is to be 20cm? What is the power of the lens?

material of the wire.
44. An alternating voltage 110V, 50Hz is applied to a circuit having a resistance of
200 and a inductance of 5H and capacitance of 2F. Calculate the impedance
and maximum (peak value of) current.
45. There is a small air bubble inside a glass sphere ( = 1.5) of radius 10 cm. The
bubble is lying at a distance 6.0 cm from the centre. What is the apparent position
of the bubble when viewed normally from the nearest end along the diameter?

supply and is connected to another uncharged 2F capacitor. How much

43. Two cells of emfs 2V and 3V and their internal resistances 1 and 2 respectively
are connected in parallel so as to send the current in the same direction through an
external resistance 10. Calculate the potential difference across 10 resistor.
44. A coil having inductance 0.2 H and resistance 10 is connected across 220V–50
Hz AC source. Calculate (i) the current in the coil, (ii) the phase angle between
the current and supply voltage, (iii) power loss in the coil.
45. In young’s double slit experiment, the two slits 0.18mm apart are illuminated by
light of wavelength 589.3nm. Calculate the distance of (i) 5th Bright fringe and (ii)
3rd dark fringe from the mid-point of the interference pattern obtained on a screen
kept 0.6m away from the slits.

44. An AC source of 220V, 50Hz is connected in series with a 100 resistor, 15F

45. At what angle should a ray of light be incident on the face of an equilateral prism,
so that it just suffers total internal reflection at the other face? The refractive index
