2. Lessons
Lesson 1: Getting Started (Introduction)

• How well do you know your laptop or device

• How to traverse from one window to another like a pro
• Open Microsoft Word.
• Identify the following:
o Ribbon (Home, Insert, Layout, References, etc.)
o Quick Access Toolbar
o Document area
• What to expect: You will be able to open a new blank document and type:
"Hello, this is my first Word document!"

Lesson 2: Text Formatting

• Font type and size: Home → Font → choose a font and size

Lesson 3: Paragraph Formatting

• Alignment: Left, Center, Right, Justify

• Line spacing: Home → Paragraph → Line and Paragraph Spacing
• Indentation: Increase or decrease indentation
• Bullets and Numbering: Home → Paragraph
• What to expect: You will:-
o Align the text center
o Add 1.5 line spacing( The most common line spacing format)

Lesson 4: Working with Tables

• Insert → Table → choose number of rows/columns

• Format table: borders, shading, merge cells

• Insert → Pictures → Choose from file

• Insert → Shapes → Draw a rectangle or circle
• Resize, move, and rotate objects

Lesson 6: Headers, Footers, and Page Numbers

• Insert → Header / Footer → choose style

• Insert → Page Number → choose location
• What to expect: you will:-
o Add a header with your name
o Add a footer with the current date Or a footnote
o Insert page numbers at the bottom center

Lesson 7: Saving & Exporting

• File → Save As → Choose location and file format (.docx or .pdf)

• What to expect: you will:-
o Save your document as “WordLab_LastName_FirstName.docx”
o Export as PDF
