BROADWAY DREAMS!

One
[Link]

(Cut at 1:24)

One singular sensation

Every little step he takes.
One thrilling combination
Every move that he makes.
One smile and suddenly nobody else will do;
You know you'll never be lonely with you know who.
One moment in his presence
And you can forget the rest.
For the guy is second best
To none,
Son.
Ooooh! Sigh! Give him your attention.
Do... I... really have to mention?
He's the one…..

A: Stop, Stop, why are we still doing these old Broadway tunes?

B: Hey, it’s a classic

A: Yeah but we can shake it up a little bit and do something more 2025?

C: Okay well what do you suggest?

A: Something from Hamilton or even In the Heights.

Everyone: (yeah those are good.)

D: Hey guys we need to focus on even trying to make it to Broadway.

E: Yep one day, that’s gonna be me… up on the big Broadway stage.
F: “Me too! Broadway or bust!”
Ensemble (cheering): “We’re ready!”

D: Now How do we get there?

F: Well first, we gotta audition.

God I hope I Get It.

God, I hope I get it

I hope I get it
How many people does he need?
How many people does he need?
God, I hope I get it I hope I get it
How many boys, how many girls?
How many boys, how many...?
Look at all the people!
At all the people
How many people does he need?
How many boys, how many girls?
How many people does he...?

{solo}
I really need this job
Please God, I need this job
I've got to get this job

(Choreography Break)
Auditionees line up with their backs facing the audience, frozen.

Director: Alright I am ready for our first auditionee

Don’t rain on My Parade:

[Link]

I'm gonna live and live now

Get what I want, I know how
One roll for the whole shebang
One throw, that bell will go clang
Eye on the target and wham
One shot, one gun shot and bam!
Hey, Mr. Arnstein, here I am

I'll march my band out ( abruptly gets cut off)

Director: Cut! Thank you next.

(singer walks back to the line)

You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile

Director: Thank you, thank you nest ( spoken as an aside) If I had a dime for everytime I
have heard that song in an audition.

(As auditionee walks to the line)

Broadway Baby
[Link]

I'm just a Broadway baby

Walking off my tired feet
Pounding Forty-second Street
To be in a show, oh

Broadway baby
Learning how to sing and dance
Waiting for that one big chance
To be in a show, oh

Gee
I'd like to be
On some marquee
All twinkling lights
A spark
To pierce the dark
From Battery Park
To Washington Heights!

Someday, maybe
All my dreams will be repaid
Heck, I'd even play the maid
To be in a show

Director: Thank you..uhm that was quite bold and brassy….well, next.

Waving Through A Window

[Link]
We start with stars in our eyes
We start believing that we belong
But every sun doesn't rise
And no one tells you where you went wrong
Step out, step out of the sun
If you keep getting burned
Step out, step out of the sun
Because you've learned, because you've learned
On the outside, always looking in
Will I ever be more than I've always been?
'Cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass
Waving through a window
I try to speak, but nobody can hear
So I wait around for an answer to appear
While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass
Waving through a window, oh

Director: Nice…. Would you like your headshot and resume back? ( vocalist looks at
Director with disbelief and sadness as Director turns their back) Auditionee walks back to
the line as another auditionee walks onto the stage)

Brother: I started dancing cuz of my sis. This is my sis!

Sister: Hi. Yeah Mom took ME to dance class and guess who had his feet in MY tap
shoes?

I Can Do That.

(Brother and Sister walk off stage high fives and cheers)
Director: Oh that was cute…NEXT

Firework
[Link]

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag

Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards, one blow from cavin' in?
Do you ever feel already buried deep?
Six feet under screams, but no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that there's still a chance for you?
'Cause there's a spark in you
You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July
'Cause baby, you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go, "Oh, oh, oh"
As you shoot across the sky
Baby, you're a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make 'em go, "Oh, oh, oh"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe, awe, awe

(Director rushes to auditionee and walks to the back in conversation)

(enters with cowboy boots on and a cowboy hat holding luggage looking around)

Pink Pony Club

[Link]

I know you wanted me to stay

But I can't ignore the visions of me on that great big stage.
And I heard that there's a special place
Where boys and girls can all been seen every single day

I'm having wicked dreams of leaving Tennessee

me on a Broadway stage, I swear it's calling me
Won't make my mama proud, it's gonna cause a scene
She sees her baby girl, I know she's gonna scream

Oh, what have you done?

You're a pink pony girl
And you sing at the club
Oh mama, I'm just having fun
On the stage with my friends
It's where I belong down at the

Pink Pony Club

I'm gonna keep on singing at the
Pink Pony Club
I'm gonna keep on dancing at the

Pink pony Club

I'm gonna keep on singing at the

Pink Pony Club, Pink Pony Club

Pink Pony Club

I'm gonna keep on singing at the
Pink Pony Club
I'm gonna keep on dancing at the

Pink pony Club

I'm gonna keep on singing at the

Pink Pony Club, Pink Pony Club

Director: Alright that was great. Everyone gave it their best shot and honestly, everyone is not
gonna make. Don’t call us we’ll call you.

(music to Defying Gravity) starts up

Friend; Hey Zainah you didn’t audition.

Ava: I know. Everyone was so good.

Friend: You are too. You just gotta know that you have it. You gotta believe in yourself. C’mon
take my hand. Repeat after me…It’s Me

Defying Gravity
[Link]

IT’S ME

So if you care to find me

Look to the western sky!
As someone told me lately:
"Ev'ryone deserves the chance to fly!"
And if I'm flying solo
At least I'm flying free
To those who'd ground me
Take a message back from me
Tell them how I am
Defying gravity
I'm flying high
Defying gravity
And soon I'll match them in renown
And nobody in all of Oz
No Wizard that there is or was
Is ever gonna bring me down!

Alright gather around kids. This has been a very tough decision however; YOU ALL ARE
GOING TO BROADWAY!

Everyone cheers!!!

On Broadway

They say the neon lights are bright on Broadway

They say there's always magic in the air
But when you're walking down that street
And you ain't had enough to eat
The glitter rubs right off and you're nowhere
They say that I won't last too long on Broadway
I'll catch a Greyhound bus for home, they all say
But they're dead wrong, I know they are
'Cause I can play this here guitar
And I won't quit 'til I'm a star on Broadway
