Scholar Program

Dear: USIU- Africa Admission program,

I'm Bhan Gatluak Jock, a young South Sudanese refugee living in Ethiopia. I started my school journey in
Nasir West Pre-School in South Sudan and continued to study my elementary and secondary school in
Ethiopia in schools called Hibret Fire and Kokebe Tsibah respectively. I have been an outstanding student
through my education being among the best three rank students all time. Due to this I have received many
accolades for recognition. Additionally, I'm also a Kepler Iteme program graduate which is where I have
heard about the USIU Scholarship program.

I'm writing this application letter to apply for the Epidemiology and biostatistics field which have always
been my childhood dream becoming doctor and studying this field will eradicate the health related
problem that my community have been suffering for many years and Carry my dream to reality which is
why I chose the USIU -Africa for its quality education and theirs financial support which my family
couldn't afford as my mother month income is 50$ or 3500 birr provided by UNHCR. That is not even
enough for family expenses rather than my university fee. And my passion for learning will make
everything easy for me if I will be getting this scholarship.

In addition , after I complete this field I will return back to my community and play my role by reducing
health issues and improving my career through learning.
