Turn Off The Tap

● A running tap can use around nine litres of

water a minute. So, turn off the tap while

brushing your teeth, shaving, or washing your

face. Use cold water if you don’t need hot.

Fix Leaky Taps

● A dripping tap can waste thousands of litres of

water a year, so make sure your taps are

properly turned off and change washers

promptly when taps start to drip.

Fill Your Dishwasher

● Make sure dishwashers and washing

machines are full before you use them, and

use the most efficient water and energy

settings regularly.

Waterwise Watering
Water in the early morning or evening to reduce

evaporation. Use a watering can rather than a

hose or sprinkler. Only water the plant's root zone

to avoid wasting water where the plant won't need

it. Make sure to check your weather forecast; if

rain is due, then hold off on watering.

Pick The Right Plants

Where possible, select plants that require little

watering. Place plants with similar watering needs

together, as this saves water and also helps keeps

plants healthier by providing the right amount of

water.
