Ultrasonic sensors measure distance by emitting sound waves and detecting their reflections, operating similarly to radar. They can be utilized in various applications, such as autonomous vehicles for obstacle detection and automatic doors that open when an object is within a certain proximity. These sensors offer versatility for different projects and uses.

Ultrasonic Sensor

Ultrasonic sensor is a type of sensor that measures distance using sound waves.
The logic of operation is the same as radar. It sends ultrasonic waves to the target
object and converts the reflection back into an electrical signal. As the name
suggests, ultrasonic means high sound. At the same time, the ultrasonic waves it
sends move at a frequency faster than the sound frequency that humans can hear.

We can use it in various ways in robots. Everyone can use this sensor in a way that
suits their project. For example, when we make an autonomous car, it will
measure the proximity of objects around it and in this way, it will go to the side
where there are no obstacles. Alternatively, we can use it in automatic doors. For
example, if an object approaches the sensor closer than 10 centimeters, the door
can be opened. Ultrasonic proximity sensors can be used in a variety of
applications.
