Feet
This part of the opossum-making process tends to be the hardest for most, so I’ve
provided an extensive list of steps and pictures to ease the process.

Start with light pink yarn.

Rnd 1. Ch 2 and Sc 6 into the first chain.

Rnd 2. Sc 1 into the first stitch.

Next, Ch up 4 stitches, and Slst 3 times down the chains. This is the
first toe.

After that, Sc into the next stitch in the round. Then make the second
toe (Ch up 4 stitches, and Slst 3 times down the chains.)

After you make the second toe, you should Sc into the same stitch
your previous Sc is in. This is an Increase that works around the toes.
You’re going to start to follow the pattern of [Sc 1, Inc 1]x3 in this round, except
after each Sc, you will add a toe, until there are 5 toes.

Make the third toe. After you make the third toe, the Sc should be in
the next stitch. Make the fourth toe, then Sc in the next stitch.

Make the fifth toe, then Sc in the same stitch.

Excluding the toes, you should have 9 stitches in this round total.

After this round, you will change the yarn color to black. Follow the instructions on
the Leg pages to finish the legs.

Keep in mind that in the next round, the stitches will only be placed in the previous
round’s single crochets, not in any of the toes’ stitches.

encounter a virginia opossum. He took one clown back with him to Europe, with
babies in her pouch, and presented her to King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella,
