Odorless Tallow Rendering Guide
1. Use Only Leaf Fat (Suet)
Use only internal kidney fat (leaf fat) from grass-fed, grass-finished cows. This fat has the least odor and
renders the cleanest, whitest tallow.
2. Trim All Meat & Membrane
Carefully cut away all blood, meat, sinew, and membrane. Even small impurities can cause odor and
discoloration.
3. Grind or Finely Chop the Fat
Use a grinder or food processor for a fine, even texture. This allows for a cleaner and faster melt.
4. Dry Render (Low & Slow)
Use a crockpot on LOW or stovetop on the lowest flame. Rendering should take 68 hours. Avoid high heatit
burns the fat and causes beefy smell.
5. Add Water (Optional)
Add 1/4 cup water per kg of fat in the beginning to prevent burning. The water will evaporate during the
process.
6. Double Strain
First, use a fine mesh or cheesecloth. Then, strain again through a coffee filter while the tallow is still liquid.
This ensures no particles remain.
7. Do Not Overcook
Stop rendering once bubbling slows and cracklings are golden and sink. Overcooking increases the beefy
odor.

8. Optional: Light Essential Oil Infusion
While warm (not hot), add a few drops of essential oil (lavender, lemon, orange, or grapefruit). This masks
any remaining scent naturally.
Final Result
You will have golden-white tallow with no beefy smell, perfect for clean, premium skincare.
Pro Tip: Confidently Claim 'Odorless'
After rendering, test it with unbiased people. If no one detects a scent, it's safe to label your tallow as 'Neutral
Scent / No Beefy Odor' in your marketing.
