GENERAL RULES FOR A PHYSICAL EDUCATION PRACTICAL LESSON
1. Proper Sports Attire and Footwear: Learners must wear appropriate PE uniform and suitable sports
shoes to prevent injuries such as slips, falls, and muscle strains. This allows free movement and comfort
during activities, Promotes discipline and a sense of identity/unity and enhances performance and
confidence.
2. Warm-up before activities: all PE lessons must begin with warm-up exercises. This
prepares muscles and joints for activity, reduces risk of injuries , Improves flexibility and performance
and gradually increases heart rate safely.
3. Obeying the Teacher’s Instructions: Learners must listen carefully and follow the teacher’s directions
at all times to ensure safety during activities and Promote discipline and order, and help activities run
smoothly and efficiently and enhances learning and skill development.
4. Safety and Use of Equipment Properly: All equipment must be used correctly and handled with care to
prevents accidents and injuries, prolong the lifespan of equipment, teach responsibility and care for
school property and, create a safe learning environment.
5. Respect for Others and Fair Play: Learners must respect teachers, teammates, opponents, and officials
to promote teamwork and cooperation, develops moral values such as honesty and respect, reduce
conflicts and violence and encourage positive sportsmanship.
6. No Rough or Dangerous Play: Rough play, fighting, or dangerous behavior is prohibited to minimize
injuries, maintain a safe and friendly environment and encourage self-control and discipline.
7. Participation by All Learners: Every learner is expected to take part unless medically excused to
promotes inclusiveness, improve overall fitness and health, build confidence and social skills and
help identify talents.
8. Cool-down After Activities: Each PE lesson must end with cool-down exercises to gradually return the
body to normal state, reduces muscle soreness and stiffness and prevent dizziness and fatigue
9. Health and Medical Awareness: Learners must report injuries or medical conditions to the teacher to
prevent serious health complications, allow the teacher to modify activities and ensure learner’s safety
and well-being
10. Proper Use of Time and Punctuality: Learners must be punctual and use lesson time effectively and
maximizes learning and activity time, encourage discipline and responsibility and Improves lesson
organization.
