VISUALISING SOLID SHAPES
Objective :
1 To make 3D figure using nets
2 To verify Euler’s formula that
F+V–E=2 where (f=faces ,v=vertices ,e=edge )
To view different sections of a solid by:
1) Cutting or slicing the shape
2) By observing a 2D shadow of a 3D shape
3) To look at the shapes from different angles eg. front
view ,side view, top view
Materials required :Coloured pens , fevicol and coloured sheets
Procedure:
[Link] the nets of cube /cuboid and cylinder/cone
2. Verify Euler’s formula for a cube
3. View different sections of a solid
Observation: We observe that in case of a cube
F=6, E=12 , V=8
F+V–E=2
6 + 8 – 12 = 2
