SCIENCE 1
1. Push and Pull
Push – to move something away from you.
Example: Pushing a chair, pushing a door to close it.
Pull – to move something toward you.
Example: Pulling a rope, pulling a toy car.
Things move differently depending on how hard or gentle you push or pull.
Be careful when pushing or pulling to avoid accidents.
2. Earth
Earth is the planet where we live.
It has land, water, and air.
Earth gives us everything we need: food, water, air, and shelter.
Living things – need air, water, and food.
Examples: People, animals, plants
Non-living things – do not need air, food, or water.
Examples: Rocks, tables, houses
LANDFORMS
1. Mountain
Very high land
Has a pointed or rocky top
Example: Mount Apo
2. Hill
Land that is lower than a mountain
Has a round top
3. Plain
Flat land
Good for farming and building houses
4. Valley
Low land between mountains or hills
Often has a river
WATERFORMS
Waterforms are bodies of water on Earth.
1. Ocean
The largest body of water
Has salt water
Example: Pacific Ocean
2. Sea
Part of an ocean
Smaller than an ocean
3. River
Flowing water
Moves from high land to low land
4. Lake
Water surrounded by land
Does not flow like a river
5. Pond
Small body of water
Smaller than a lake
6. Waterfall
Water falls from a high place
7. Stream
small, flowing body of water.
It moves continuously in one direction
Smaller than a river
