My interest in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science comes from my academic and

practical background in Computer Engineering. Through my studies and industrial training at


Nyakahanga Hospital, Coca-Cola Mbeya, Mbeya Referral Hospital, and Mbeya University of
Science and Technology, I worked on system maintenance, computer networking, and
programming. These experiences exposed me to real challenges caused by limited data usage
and traditional systems. Later, through web development projects like [Link] and
[Link], I gained a deeper appreciation of how digital platforms depend on effective
data handling and intelligent automation. These experiences have motivated me to pursue
further study so I can help build smarter and more efficient systems.

My goal in applying for the Master’s programme in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
at NM-AIST is to gain advanced knowledge and practical skills that will allow me to design
and implement intelligent systems that support problem-solving in Tanzania. I hope to
understand core areas such as machine learning, deep learning, data analytics, and predictive
modeling. I am particularly interested in researching how AI can improve decision-making in
sectors such as healthcare or education—for example, through predictive tools, intelligent
platforms, or classification systems that provide timely and accurate support. I believe NM-
AIST, with its strong research environment and focus on real-world solutions, is the best
place for me to grow academically and professionally.

By completing this programme, I expect to develop the capacity to design AI-based solutions
that respond to local challenges and improve efficiency in key sectors. I aim for my research
to contribute to digital innovation while also giving me the foundation to support teaching,
system development, and future technological projects in the country. This concept note
expresses my intention to study AI and Data Science not only for personal academic growth,
but also to contribute to Tanzania’s technological progress through research and practical
solutions.
