STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study aims to determine the extent to which students

are aware of various artificial intelligence (AI) tools
used for both business and academic productivity. As AI
technologies continue to transform industries and
educational systems, it becomes increasingly important to
assess how prepared students are to engage with these
tools.

The study specifically seeks to answer the following

questions:

1. What is the socio-demographic profile of the

respondents in terms of:

a. Age

b. Sex

c. Grade level/Strand

d. Access to technology (internet/device availability)

e. Frequency of using digital or AI-driven tools?

2. What AI tools are students aware of in terms of:

a. AI for productivity (e.g., ChatGPT, Notion AI,

Google Gemini, Copilot)

b. AI for business applications (e.g., Canva AI,

Shopify AI, CRM automation, Meta Ads AI)

c. AI for academic tasks (e.g.,CiCi, Grammarly,

Quillbot, Turnitin AI detection)?

3. What is the level of awareness of students regarding

AI tools for:

a. Business-related tasks such as marketing, planning,

management
b. Academic tasks such as writing, research,
summarizing, and proofreading?

4. How often do students utilize AI tools for either

business or academic purposes?

5. Is there a significant difference in students’

awareness levels when grouped according to their socio-
demographic characteristics?

6. What challenges or barriers do students encounter in

accessing or using AI tools?

7. (Optional – for experimental orientation)

What is the effect of a short AI tool orientation or

training session on students’ awareness and
understanding?

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

The study assumes that a student’s background and

technological environment may influence how aware they
are of AI tools used for:

A. academic tasks (writing, researching, summarizing,

checking grammar),

B. business tasks (marketing, designing, analytics),

C. general productivity (organizing, planning, automating

tasks).

Students with greater access to technology, more

experience using digital tools, or those in more tech-
related strands are expected to show higher awareness.

Independent Variable (IV)

Socio-demographic profile

* Age

* Sex

* Grade level / Strand

* Access to technology (device & internet)

* Frequency of using digital/AI tools

Dependent Variable (DV)

* Awareness of AI tools for productivity

* Awareness of business and academic-related AI tools

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

To the Students:

This study will help students better understand the

importance and potential of AI tools in improving both
their academic and business-related tasks. By becoming
more aware of AI functionalities, students may develop
stronger digital literacy, increased efficiency, and
improved readiness for future academic and professional
demands. The findings can inspire them to use AI
responsibly and productively.
To Teachers:

Results of this study may guide educators in integrating

AI-based learning activities into classroom instruction.
With increased knowledge on students’ awareness levels,
teachers can design lessons that maximize AI as a
supplementary tool, ensuring that students benefit from
enhanced research, writing, and analytical capabilities.

To School Administrators:

School leaders may use the findings to initiate programs

such as AI literacy workshops, digital innovation
seminars, or improved ICT infrastructures. Understanding
students’ AI awareness levels will help administrators
make informed decisions regarding technology-based
curriculum improvements.

To Future Entrepreneurs / EIMS Students:

Since AI is now widely used in the business sector—from

marketing automation to financial forecasting—the study

provides valuable insights for entrepreneurship-minded

learners. Awareness of AI tools can help them develop
stronger business skills, improve productivity, and adapt
to modern digital business environments.

To Researchers:

This study contributes to the existing literature on AI

adoption and digital competency. Future researchers may
use the data as reference for more comprehensive studies
on AI integration, experimental AI interventions, or
comparative analyses across schools and grade levels.

To the Community:

The community benefits from digitally literate youth who

can contribute to local development through technology-
driven initiatives. AI awareness strengthens overall
digital empowerment and supports the growth of
technologically capable citizens.
