II - STRUCTURE
PEEL PARAGRAPH
P = Point: start your paragraph with a clear topic sentence that establishes what your paragraph
is going to be about. Your point should support your essay argument or thesis statement.
E = Evidence/Example: here you should use a piece of evidence or an example that helps to
reaffirm your initial point and develop the argument.
E = Explain: next you need to explain exactly how your evidence/example supports your point,
giving further information to ensure that your reader understands its relevance.
L = Link/ Conclusion to finish the paragraph off, you need to link the point you’ve just made
back to your essay question, topic, or thesis.
Infants should not be given iPads, because studies show children under two can face
developmental delays if they are exposed to too much screen time. A recent paediatric study
showed that infants who are exposed to too much screen time may experience delays in speech
development. The reason infants are facing these delays is that screen time is replacing other
key developmental activities. The evidence suggests that infants who have a lot of screen time
experience negative consequences in their speech development, and therefore they should not be
exposed to iPads at such a young age.
Example:
People today often use the internet to learn about the culture of other countries. This means
that it is not that important to travel to those countries.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is true that the Internet has become a source of cultural knowledge that people can learn
from. That is the reason why some people argue that travel is no longer necessary. In my
opinion, this conclusion is rather hasty and travel is irreplaceable.
Proponents of Internet travel believe that they can access a huge amount of cultural knowledge
of different countries around the world with just a few clicks. This is possible due to the
booming of search engines and social networks. For example, one staying at home only needs
to enter a few keywords on the search bar of Google, and millions of related results can be
displayed within seconds. He can also talk to a foreigner to learn about his culture on Facebook
or watch amazing videos of travel bloggers on Youtube. In brief, people's demands to learn
about other cultures can be fulfilled through a range of activities from looking for
information to communicating with local people, all of which can be conducted online.
However, I would argue that travel is indispensable because the Internet fails to offer visitors
the benefits of traveling to a physical place. Although visitors can obtain cultural knowledge
by reading and watching videos at home, the experience cannot be anywhere near equivalent
to that in real life. For example, they cannot taste the local food or feel the lifestyle of people
there if what they know is a mere description of the place on the Internet. Moreover, the reason
for people's travel is not restricted to learning culture but also extended to other purposes
with refreshing their mind being one of those. The change of place helps people relax,
recharging their batteries. In this case, travel is not about being culturally educated but having
a sense of satisfaction that one would not achieve just by traveling through their computer
screen.
In conclusion, while the Internet seems to render travel obsolete because people can culturally
explore a place through online sources, I maintain that travel plays a crucial role in human life
that the Internet cannot replace.

Nowadays, some employers think that formal academic qualifications are more important
than life experience or personal qualities when they look for new employees. Why is it the
case? Is it a positive or negative development?
Work Experience vs. Education: An Overview
The arguments for higher education versus work experience (and vice versa) are varied, but some
of the main ones go like this:
● Obtaining(nhận được) a higher education only proves you can succeed in academia, not
in a real-world job situation. Success in actual work tells prospective employers more
about what you have to offer.
● Work experience can make you a good match for a particular job today but without
higher education, you may lack the skills that are important for advancement tomorrow.
● A degree can show that you have the specialized knowledge or technical skills that an
employer is looking for and that can be transferred to the workplace with minimal
on-the-job training.
