3.3.
4 Reliability
A pilot study has been done which accounts for 10% (5 respondents) of the
total sample who have been asked to answer the questionnaire. A reliability test was
run as soon as the data was collected. The value of Cronbach Alpha is shown in
Table 3.4 below.
Table 3.4 Cronbach's Alpha Value for PSS-10 in a targeted sample
Cronbach’s
Dimension Total Item
Alpha Value
Knowledge 10 0.831
Practice 10 0.821
Table 3.4 shows that Cronbach’s Alpha value for knowledge items is
0.831. Meanwhile, the Cronbach’s Alpha value for practice items is 0.821. According
to Table 3.5, the obtained Cronbach’s Alpha value shows good internal consistency.
This value proves that all the instrument items are reliable.
Table 3.5 Cronbach's Alpha Rule of Thumb
Cronbach’s Alpha Internal Consistency
α ≥ 0.9 Excellent
0.8 ≤ α < 0.9 Good
0.7 ≤ α < 0.8 Acceptable
0.6 ≤ α < 0.7 Questionable
0.5 ≤ α < 0.6 Poor
α < 0.6 Unacceptable
