I. TITLE: DISTRICT GIRL SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES (GSP) ENCAMPMENT
II. RATIONALE:
The purpose of the Scout Movement is to contribute to the development of every
youth in building self-confidence, achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional,
social, and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens, and as members
of their communities.
Relative to this, the district encampment is necessary to promote positive values,
leadership, friendliness, and willingness to serve. This activity will also help every girl to
gain important life skills, experiences which can be applied to real-life situations,
outdoor adventure, and fun.
III. OBJECTIVES:
The activity aims to:
1. Enhance creativity, aesthetic sense, and expressions.
2. Develop deeper learning, independence, and responsibility.
3. Promote self-esteem, resilience, resourcefulness and leadership.
4. Expose the scouts to outdoor activities useful for self-reliance and camaraderie.

Program Araling Panlipunan is perhaps the most underrated subject of all
Description time because for many it is boring. Hence, it is not surprising that there
is a low performance in Araling Panlipunan and related subjects among
the pupils.
Relative to this, there is a need to develop pupils’ interest and
motivation in Araling Panlipunan by means of a contest. It has been a
teacher’s saving grace in holding the interest of all pupils. By combining
the strategies and contest/activity we can ensure that the pupils will find
a love for Araling Panlipunan.
The said activity aims to:
1. showcase the intelligence of pupils;
2. promote deeper understanding of the significance of studying the
Philippine history;
3. gain the love and interest of pupils in Araling Panlipunan;
4. increase pupil’s awareness about the society they are living.
The SCHOOL-BASED ARALING PANLIPUNAN QUIZ BEE AND ON-THE-SPOT
POSTER MAKING CONTEST promotes these aims by making the pupils participate
and learn as they enjoy themselves to the tasks given to them. All the pupils from
Grade IV-VI are encourage to join the competition.
Mode of Delivery/ This activity will be conducted on February 6, 2018 at their designated

Contest MECHANICS
ON-THE-SPOT POSTER MAKING CONTEST (Grade 5 or 6)
1. The contest is open to all Grade V-VI pupils of .
2. Participants are expected to provide their own materials. Pre-drawn sketches shall not be
allowed.
3. Each contestant should bring ¼ illustration board and craypass as materials. Only five (5) colors
(red, blue, yellow, black and white) shall be allowed. Combination if these colors shall be allowed.
4. Borrowing of materials from the other contestants during the contest shall not be allowed.
5. Duration of the contest shall be 2 ½ hours. There shall be no extension of time for late comers.
6. Lettering and boarders are not allowed as part of the presentation.
7. Finished outputs should not contain any label of the theme or name of contestant. Only the
number (based on the list of entry) shall be written at the back of the illustration board.
8. The decision of the Board of Judges shall be final and unappealable.
9. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place winners will represent the school in the 2018 District Patiribayan sa
Araling Panlipunan on February 16, 2018 at 8:00 A.M. at Sagrada Elementary School, Sagrada,
Theme: “PAGMAMAHAL SA BAYAN AT MGA ARAL NG KASAYSAYAN ”

QUIZ BEE (Grade 4, 5 & 6)
1. The contest is open to all Grade IV-VI pupils of .
2. The contest shall focus on Araling Panlipunan /HEKASI.
3. The question should be written in Filipino. The questions must be written in ¼ crosswise sheet of
long size bond paper.
4. The Quiz Bee is divided into four (4) categories:
a. Easy Round
b. Average Round
c. Difficult Round
d. Clincher Round
5. Guidelines how to formulate the questions:
Easy and Average Round – Multiple Choice with four (4) options
Difficult and Clincher Round – Short-Answer Item (no option)
6. Each grade level shall compete in Easy (1pt.), Average (3pts.) and Difficult/Clincher Round
(5pts.).
7. Each coach/participant in all grade level should bring 1-easy, 1-average, 1-difficult and 1-clicher
question based from the curriculum guide cover to cover with key to correction.
8. There should be 10 questions only per category.
9. The pupils will answer the same set of questions. They will raise their hands before the question
is read.
10. The questions shall be read twice. After the Quizmaster said “Go” only then the pupils will write
their answers on the slate board/ illustration board. Pupils will be given 10 seconds to write their
answer.
11. After the time limit, the contestants must stop writing and raise their hands.
12. The Board of Judges will verify their answers. The checkers will record and tally the scores on the
score sheet.
13. In cases there is a tie among the contestants getting the highest score, the contest continues
through a Clincher. The total number of points of the tied contestants will revert to zero (0).
14. In the Clincher Round, another 3 or more questions (if necessary) will be asked to break the tie.
15. In cases of protest, the Board of Judges will have to present evidences based on the primary
sources.
16. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place winners will represent the school in the 2018 District Patiribayan sa
Araling Panlipunan on February 16, 2018 at 8:00 A.M. at Sagrada Elementary School, Sagrada,
