Russia, France, and UK, recognizing its global role.
v. Responsible Nuclear Power: India is a nuclear-armed nation and follows a policy of no
first use, showing responsible behavior.

the whole world.
iii. India believes that developing countries (like India and others) should also help make
big decisions in the UN.

Ans :- The United Nations (UN) has six main organs, each with important roles in
maintaining peace, security, and development in the world.
i. General Assembly: It is the main decision-making body where all member countries
are represented equally. It discusses world problems and makes recommendations.
ii. Security Council: This organ works to maintain international peace and security. It
has 15 members, out of which 5 are permanent members (USA, UK, France, Russia,
China) with veto power.
iii. Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC): It works to improve health, education, and
living standards. It coordinates the work of UN agencies like WHO, UNESCO, and
UNICEF.
iv. International Court of Justice (ICJ): It is the UN’s main judicial body. It settles legal
disputes between countries and is located in The Hague, Netherlands.
v. Secretariat: It carries out the day-to-day work of the UN. It is headed by the UN
Secretary-General, who is the chief spokesperson and administrator.
vi. Trusteeship Council: It was created to help some territories become independent.
Since all such areas have gained freedom, it is now inactive.

today’s world.
