Guidance

Copilot+ PC Brand Guidance

Why?
Class of device refers to a grouping or categorization based on shared characteristics or functionality. These
Naming – Class vs. Category characteristics can include technical specifications, capabilities, intended use, or similar features. In this case we
are referring to Copilot+ PCs. Avoid using “category of devices”

When referring to Copilot+ PCs as a group, refer to them only as a “class of devices”
How?
The required brand marketing guidelines for naming is that the final name appears in device descriptions,
details, tech specs, merchandising (where applicable), etc. OEMs and digital retailers will create web categories,
site filters, etc. for the class of devices, and have the class listed at a high level in certain outbound marketing
executions (for example, introducing a Contoso XYZ, a Copilot+ PC)

Microsoft Confidential – Shared under NDA 14

Copilot+ PC Brand Guidance

Device naming convention

The name should appear in device descriptions, details, tech specs, merchandising (where applicable), etc. The
Naming Usage Guidance class of devices is high-level descriptor, separated from the product name.
• Long form: HP Envy 14, a Copilot+ PC
• Headline: Dell XPS 13, Copilot+ PC

All marketing materials

DON’T translate Copilot.
Leverage the full color Copilot Icon, the Copilot+ PC wordmark, the
Copilot+ PC Bloom, and the Windows 11 logo on all marketing materials, DON’T combine hardware and software names. For example, do not:
including: • Contoso [hero name] Copilot+ PC
• OOH activations, including billboards, posters and signs on street • See the rest of the Copilot+ PC Guidelines for instruction on how 3P/OEMs are to use the class of device
furniture, transportation, etc.; naming convention
• Retail (POS) printed materials, including hangtags, fact-tags, DO use a sentence to designate what you are trying to say. For example:
subscriptions card merchandising, retail posters, etc.; and • Contoso [hero name] is a Copilot+ PC
• Digital marketing, including Web, PDPs, tech specs, etc. • Introducing Contoso [hero name], a Copilot+ PC
• All assets containing Copilot or Copilot require disclaimer (see • Explore Copilot+ PC capabilities on Contoso [hero name] devices
Storybook)
Physical product and packaging

DON’T use ‘Copilot, ’Copilot+ PC,’ or the Copilot+ PC wordmark (by itself or in combination with other elements)
on physical product and packaging (including inserts, stickers, Quick Start Guides, etc.).

External packaging of keyboards will use black monochrome Copilot icon; see specific Copilot key guidance.

In writing:
• Singular: Use [name] PC
• Plural: Use [name] PCs – do not include an apostrophe.

For the most up-to-date naming guidance, check out the Windows 11 Copilot+ PCs Launch book.

Copilot+ PC Messaging Executions Guidance

Brief Messaging Guidance

Copilot+ PC messaging

For full guidance on marketing messaging, please visit Consumer Launchbook and the Commercial Launchbook. Inclusive of headlines and subheads, disclaimers.

Character counts for the final class of device name:

• Singular: 2 words and 11 characters (with the space). For example: Loremips Um
• Plural: 2 words and 12 characters (with the space). For example, Loremips Ums

“Windows 11” is not required to be locked up with “Copilot+ PC”.

When locking it up, always use “Windows 11” and never just “Windows”.

Places where locking up “Windows 11 Copilot+ PC” can be useful:

• First mention in a long form document, like a blog
• Lower funnel marketing executions, like tech specs and PDPs
• When there is a need to associate or build a connection with Windows 11

Use PC when referring to a single device, like in a device description.

Use PCs when referring to multiple devices, or the entire class of devices.

When utilizing messaging that speaks to speed, such as Fastest, ONLY using this specific type of performance descriptive terms when referring to Copilot+ PCs are a Class or Category. Refrain
from using Fastest when referring to a specific device to avoid claims. Below is an acceptable example that CAN be used:

• “The fastest, most intelligent Windows PCs ever”

Primary Wordmark

This is our Primary wordmark. It includes the Copilot icon to drive recall
and recognition. We should use this primary wordmark as one of the
leading elements in our Awareness comms.

The wordmark is available in stacked and horizontal, and in different

colors. See toolkits for what is available to you.

For guidance on hierarchy and usage, see slide 114 & 115.

Secondary Wordmark

This secondary wordmark is used mostly in Consideration and Purchase

level comms when it is not the visual center and is juxtaposed with
Windows logo (or other accompanying logos) to brand the Copilot+ PC
product. Additional color options are available.

Copilot+ PC Brand Guidance

Logo and Wordmark Hierarchy

The situation dictates the relationship between our wordmark, the

Copilot+ PC symbol & any accompanying logos.

When the wordmark is the main focal point of the communication,

the accompany logo should be much smaller with increased
spacing between the two.

When the wordmark is not the main focal point of the communication,
the accompany logo should match the size of the wordmark. Both
should be much smaller than the headline or imagery focal point.

Copilot+ PC Bloom

Copilot+ PCs hero Bloom is inspired by the Windows 11 Bloom that we know and
love. It incorporates the Copilot-specific color palette to give it a flair of
differentiation, and to indicate the advanced AI features that you get with these Copilot
PCs.

This default Copilot+ PC Bloom will be used in hero marketing assets from
both Windows and Surface, and OEM partners. This cohesion and integration with
our Copilot+ PC color palette will create a complete Copilot+ PC ecosystem.
