Micro-Lesson Plan: “Let’s Save Our Planet!

”
Topic: Environmental Topics through Campaigns

Target Group: 5th Grade Students

Time: 45 minutes

Focus: Learning about environmental problems and creating a mini class campaign

Language Focus: Vocabulary (pollution, recycling, save water, protect animals);


imperatives (Don’t… / Let’s…)

1. Warm-Up (5 minutes) – “What Do You See?”


Materials: Pictures of environmental problems (trash, dirty water, cutting trees, clean
parks).

Procedure:
• Show 3–4 pictures and ask:

 – What can you see?


 – Is it good or bad for the planet?

 • Elicit words: pollution, rubbish, forest, animals, water, air.


 • Write 4–5 key words on the board.

Transition: Say: “We can help our planet by starting a campaign! Do you know what a
campaign is?”

2. Presentation (10 minutes) – “What Is a Campaign?”


Explain: “A campaign is when people work together to share a message and help others
change their habits.”

For example, a *Keep Our School Clean* campaign teaches everyone to throw trash in bins.

 Show examples:

 • Save Water!
 • Don’t Litter!
 • Plant More Trees!

Practice: Say the slogans together like a chant.

Language Focus: Teach imperatives: Let’s recycle! Don’t throw trash! Save energy! Write
them on the board and repeat together.
3. Group Work (20 minutes) – “Our Green Campaign!”
Aim: Students create a mini environmental campaign.

Procedure:

1. 1. Divide the class into 4 groups.


2. 2. Each group chooses a topic:

 • Group 1: Save Water 💧


 • Group 2: Don’t Litter 🚯
 • Group 3: Save Trees 🌳
 • Group 4: Protect Animals 🐼

3. 3. Give each group paper, markers, and crayons.


4. 4. Students design a poster with:

 • A slogan (example: “Don’t Waste Water!”)


 • One or two drawings
 • Their group name (example: “Green Team”)

5. 5. Play quiet nature music while they work (optional).


6. 6. Help students with vocabulary and spelling.

4. Presentation (5–7 minutes) – “Campaign Time!”


Each group presents their poster:

 • Show the drawing.


 • Read their slogan aloud.
 • Say one short message (example: “We can help animals if we don’t cut trees.”)

After each group: Clap and give positive feedback.

5. Wrap-Up and Reflection (3 minutes)


Ask the class:

 • What can you do to help the Earth?


 Students answer:

 • I can recycle.
 • I can save water.
 • I can turn off the lights.

End with a short chant together:

“Let’s save water!


Let’s save trees!
Let’s make our planet clean — please!”
