INSTALLATION GUIDE (STAND-ALONE DEVICE)
This document shows you how to install and set up ChartCo OneOcean on a stand-alone
device. If you want to install OneOcean on multiple devices that use a common server, refer to
the OneOcean Installation Guide (Server/Client).

What is ChartCo OneOcean?


ChartCo OneOcean is a single platform that you can use to access all ChartCo’s e-navigation
and compliance services. In designing it, we’ve retained all the core, valued functionality of
PassageManager 6, and added many new features. OneOcean also has a completely new,
intuitive look. We think you’ll appreciate the changes.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum hardware:
Processor: Intel i3 equivalent or higher
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Available hard disk space: 20 GB (data can be stored to an alternate drive or partition)

Recommended hardware:
Processor: Intel i5 equivalent or higher
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Available hard disk space: 20 GB (data can be stored to an alternate drive or partition)

Supported operating systems:


Windows 7 SP1 Windows Server 2012 (x64)
Windows 8 Windows Server 2012 R2 (x64)
Windows 8.1 Windows Server 2016
Windows 10 Windows Terminal Server
Windows Server 2008 SP2 (x86 and x64) Mac OS X with Parallels
Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (x64)

Minimum software dependencies:


Windows Installer 3.1
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 (required for R4S OTA installation)
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6

Printer:
A4 laser or colour inkjet printer with a resolution of 300 dpi or greater. Inkjet specification
should meet or exceed that of the Canon IP4300.
Good quality white paper; 80 gsm minimum.

INSTALLATION AND SETUP
Follow these instructions to:

 Install and setup ChartCo OneOcean on a stand-alone device.


 Upgrade PassageManager 6 to ChartCo OneOcean on a stand-alone device.

If you want to install OneOcean on multiple devices that use a common server, refer to
ChartCo OneOcean Installation Guide (Server/Client) in your starter pack.

Note: Before installing or upgrading to OneOcean, you must log on as an administrator.

1. Make sure you are logged on to the computer as an administrator.


2. Close any programs that are running.
3. Insert the OneOcean installation USB drive.
4. If the USB drive window doesn’t open automatically, from the Windows start menu, find
and open Computer or This PC, then open the USB drive.
5. Open [Link].
6. If the window below or similar appears, click Yes.

7. If the window below opens, make sure all the components listed are selected, and then
click Install.

8. After any required components have been installed, the OneOcean Installation Wizard
opens. Click Next.

9. After reading the license agreement, select Accept License Agreement, and then click
Next.

10. Select the Standalone option, and then click Next.

11. If you want to change the location where OneOcean data is saved, click Browse, and
then select a folder.
Note: if you change the storage location, you must select a file path that ends in a final
subfolder with the folder name: ChartCo.

12. Make sure the checkboxes for any optional data you require are selected. We
recommend all data is selected.
13. To begin installation, click Install.
14. When installation is complete, click Launch ChartCo OneOcean.

OneOcean starts running.

15. The first time OneOcean runs, the OneOcean Initial Setup window opens. In the
Identification panel, complete any empty fields. If you're upgrading from
PassageManager, OneOcean automatically completes some of the information for you.

16. In the Data Settings panel, select the Data Collection Method you want to use for
updating OneOcean. If you select E-mail, further options appear for configuring email
collection.
17. If OneOcean has completed the information for you, below the Data Settings panel, it
displays a checkbox labelled Confirm all details are correct. Make sure all the
information is correct, and then select the checkbox.

18. Click Setup.

19. If any of the credentials don’t match the ones recorded on the ChartCo server,
OneOcean displays the message shown below. If you see this message, check the
credentials supplied to you by ChartCo and re-enter them, including your username
and password. Then click Setup again.

When the setup process is complete, the OneOcean home page opens.

Note: Initially, the home page may not show all the tiles you need for your subscribed services.
When OneOcean has connected to the ChartCo server and downloaded the latest data, it
updates the home page with the correct tiles.

To learn more about using ChartCo OneOcean, click Help and then select User Guide or
Training Videos.
