4 TERMINAL SOFTWARE UPGRADE
This section contains step-by-step instructions on how to upgrade several HTT-500 terminals using the
Multiple Upgrade Launcher tool.
Software upgrade is a critical operation; if it is not properly performed it may lead to terminal malfunction.
Before starting a software upgrade please check the following:
- The HTT-500 battery has at least at 50% of its charge. If this is not the case, charge the battery before the
software upgrade.
- The battery charger is not connected to the HTT-500.
- Logger is not active (icon flashing at the lower right corner of the screen is not present). If active, dial
"Menu+9+9+7+8+9" on the terminal keypad to disable it.
- Appropriated cables are being used. Do not use the standard programming cables for upgrading multiple
terminals, these cables are not suitable for this purpose, instead use only the D037622 USB multiple
upgrade cable which is specific for this task.
- Verify all the USB cables are properly connected. It is recommended to use the USB hub provided by
Teltronic S.A.U., it is not guaranteed that the cable will work with any other hubs.
- You have located the software ".cry" file in your computer. Contact your local distributor or Teltronic S.A.
Unipersonal to obtain the file with the software version.

4.1 UPGRADE PROCESS
This is the recommended upgrade method, as it performs step by step all the operations needed for a proper
upgrade. Using Multiple Upgrade Launcher tool you can upgrade up to four terminals simultaneously.
1. To start the upgrade process, launch the Multiple Upgrade Launcher tool from the Start Menu
Programs Teltronic T2PRO Multiple Upgrade Launcher.
2. Select the ‘cry’ file and click the “Open” button. This software version file will be used to upgrade all
the terminals.
Once the software version file is selected, its name will be shown in the main screen.

3. Connect the USB hub provided by Teltronic S.A. Unipersonal to a USB port on the PC.
4. Plug in a D037622 USB cable to the USB Hub port number 1. Then click on the “Scan USB ports”
button. The COM port the cable is connected to, will be assigned to the Multiple Upgrade Launcher
port number 1.
5. Repeat this action for each of the different cables (number 2, 3 and 4) that you are going to use;
connecting these cables to the USB Hub Port numbers 2, 3 and 4, respectively. Click on the “Scan
USB ports” button after connecting each cable.
The actual number of the ports is assigned by the operative system and thus could be any valid COM
port number.
After the scanning process is completed once, the program will remember the configuration,
nonetheless this process might be repeated at any time disconnecting all the cables from the USB
Hub and clicking the “Scan USB ports” button to clear the current port configuration, and repeating the
process from point 3.

running.

7. Please connect the different switched-on terminals to be upgraded to the different cables and click
“Upgrade” to start the upgrade process.
1. Wait until the upgrade process ends, then depending on the terminal version it will restart itself
automatically or it shall be powered off and on manually; this will be indicated in the screen that
appears.
In some cases the terminal apparently doesn’t power on except for the led indicator, this is due to
some firmware updates, this internal update may last up to 30 seconds, once finished the terminal
powers on automatically.
2. Once the terminal is powered on and after checking the cable is properly connected click ‘Ok’.

3. Then the wizard reads and writes the terminal to update the programming parameters.
When the read and write operations are successful the pair TEI-ITSI is stored in a database if enabled
on the TEI-ITSI configuration, see chapter [Link] of the T2PRO Programming Guide.
4. When the process ends the terminal is upgraded. If the process has been successful, the program will
show the following image.
If the process has not been successful, the following image will be shown. Please repeat the process
with this terminal to complete a successful upgrade. If the terminal does not start after an upgrade
error, please follow the instructions on the chapter 6.2.2 of the T2PRO Programming Guide.

Finally, you can repeat the process with another terminal just connecting another switched-on
terminal and clicking the button “Upgrade” again.
You can click “Exit” to close each of the different open instances. If you want to reuse a closed
instance, once all open instances are closed restart the Multiple Upgrade Launcher.
