T2PRO: INSTALLATION GUIDE

1 INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the T2PRO installation guide.

The T2PRO programming tool is used to configure TETRA services, as well as options and accessories of
your HTT-500 and/or MDT-400 communication equipment. It will also allow you to upgrade your
equipment’s software. With T2PRO you can also program TRM-300 equipments.

T2PRO includes a tool called Multiple Upgrade Launcher, this tool facilitates and is used exclusively for
upgrading the software of up to four HTT-500 terminals simultaneously; which is very useful for example
for upgrading a whole fleet of terminals.

Before installing T2PRO, please read this manual carefully and keep it for future reference.

1.1 T2PRO distribution

The application installation media includes the following:

- The [Link] file for installing the program, the program icon ([Link]) and an [Link] file.
- Complements: Necessary complements for installing the program, Microsoft® Windows Installer MSI
3.1 and Microsoft® .NET Framework 3.5. Adobe® Acrobat Reader is also included because it is
required to open the help files.
- Licence: The T2PRO programming tool end user license agreement.
- UserGuide: User manuals for T2PRO.

1.2 Minimum requirements for installing T2PRO

Before installing the T2PRO programming tool, please bear in mind the following requirements:

- The programming tool is designed to operate under:

Microsoft® Windows XP 32 bits
Microsoft® Windows Vista 32 bits
Microsoft® Windows 7 - 32 and 64 bits
Microsoft® Windows 8.1 - 32 and 64 bits
It requires a processor at 1GHz or greater, 1GB of RAM and at least 500MB free space on the hard
disk and a monitor with a minimum resolution of 1024x768 pixels. When using the Multiple Upgrade
Launcher tool a minimum of 2GB of RAM is required.
- It is necessary to install T2PRO from a PC account with administrator permissions, as certain libraries
and drivers will need to be installed.

T2PRO: INSTALLATION GUIDE

- You must also have Microsoft® Windows Installer MSI 3.1 or later, Microsoft® .NET Framework 3.5
and Microsoft® Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable. The T2PRO installer will automatically install these
complements if they are not already installed on your PC.
- If you have an active Firewall on your PC should be configured to enable the installation and execution
of T2PRO. If T2PRO is opened before giving execution permissions to the Firewall, close the
programming tool and reopen it before beginning to use it.
- Communication between the applications installed on your PC and the HTT-500 or MDT-400 devices
is established through a programming cable.
If you install T2PRO to program an HTT-500, you will need a programming cable (USB
D037941 or RS232 D037940) to connect the equipment to the PC.
If you use the Multiple Upgrade Launcher tool to upgrade several HTT-500 terminals, you will
need the D037622 USB multiple upgrade cable. It is recommended to use the USB hub
provided by Teltronic [Link], it is not guaranteed that the cable will work with any
other hubs. Do not use the standard programming cables for upgrading multiple terminals;
these cables are not suitable for this purpose.
If you are going to program an MDT-400, you will need the RS232 D026940 programming
cable.
For the communication to be effective, the user must configure the connections properly, as indicated
in the programming guide.
- Users of Vietnamese language must use the Vietnamese keyboard UniKey ([Link] or an
application with similar characteristics.

1.3 Steps to install T2PRO

The steps necessary to work with T2PRO are detailed in chapters 2 and 3 of this manual, this steps are
summarised below.

Depending on your equipment and the functionalities you wish to have available, installation might vary.
These are the possible options:

- If your licence is only for T2PRO, install the application on the installation media executing [Link].
The required complements will be installed automatically. If you already had a previous programming
tool license for TPS, this will be updated too. Note that if you wish to keep the previous version of
T2PRO, before installing copy the “C:\Program Files\Teltronic\T2PRO” folder in a different location,
otherwise the previous version will be overwritten. Before establishing communication with the
equipment configure the ports.
- If your license is only for TPS, install the application on the installation media executing [Link] and
then configure the ports. If you already had a previous programming tool license for T2PRO it will be
updated.
- If you need both licenses, you must have two installation medias each with its license. First install one
of them and then the other, following the indications given above.
- In addition, you must have Microsoft® Windows Installer MSI 3.1 or later, Microsoft. NET Framework
3.5 and Microsoft® Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable. The setup program will install them automatically
if they are not already installed on your PC.
- You need a program to open pdf documents in order to access the help files, the setup program will
check if your PC has already a program to open pdf documents and will install Adobe® Acrobat
Reader if that is not the case.

These complements will be selected automatically if they are needed.

The drivers for USB programming cable and the Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable library will be selected
only when installing a T2PRO license and if they are not already installed on your PC (they are not needed
for MDT-400 programming).

Microsoft MSI 3.1 and .NET Framework 3.5 libraries are always required, but they will be selected only if
they are not already installed on your PC. Please note that the .NET Framework 3.5 library installation
may take from five to ten minutes depending on your PC configuration.

Adobe Acrobat Reader will be installed only if no application is available to open pdf files on your PC.
Nonetheless if you still want to install Adobe® Acrobat Reader you can do so by executing the file
AdbeRdr930_en_US.exe present in the Complements folder present on the installation media.

The installation will always create automatically shortcuts to the program in the Microsoft® Windows start
menu folder at Teltronic/T2PRO. Additionally the user may install a desktop shortcut selecting the option
provided.

Some drivers and libraries installed by the setup can be used by other applications besides T2PRO, so
they will remain installed on your PC even if T2PRO is uninstalled.
