Referencing an Online Journal with Three or More Authors (APA Style)

APA 7th edition provides clear guidelines for referencing online journal articles written by three
or more authors. These guidelines apply to both in-text citations and the reference list.
APA (2020).

In-text Citation
When a journal article has three or more authors, only the surname of the first author is written,
followed by et al. and the year of publication.

Example:
(Mensah et al., 2022)

Narrative example:
Mensah et al. (2022) explain that collaborative teaching improves student outcomes.

Reference List
In the reference list, all authors (up to 20) are included. The reference should contain:
1. Authors’ names
2. Year of publication
3. Title of the article
4. Title of the journal (italicized)
5. Volume number and issue number
6. Page range or article number
7. DOI or URL
