honored to come alongside you on your upward
journey.

Throughout this guide, you’ll find lesson summaries,

reflection questions, and memory verses that will
challenge you to pursue new levels of growth.

It’s time for you to shift from where you have

potential to where you are potent—alive with
purpose, passion, and power.

 Lesson One

Activate Your Potential

At one point or another, we’ve all heard these words spoken over
us: “You’re full of potential!” But as life goes on, what began as a
compliment can easily become a painful critique—an ever-present
reminder that you’re not where you could be (or where you should
be). And we must accept the fact that it’s not enough to be full of
potential unless it’s being realized—which, as we’ve discussed,
occurs on levels.

Reflect
Are you progressing in your calling? In what ways have you felt
stuck and frustrated?

How does understanding that life is lived on levels encourage

you to keep growing?

For you to level up, what immediate action is required of you?

Read
The path of life leads upward for the wise; they leave the grave
behind. (Proverbs 15:24 NLT)

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I

press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has
also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have
apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which
are behind and reaching forward to those things which are
ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward
call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:12–14 NKJV)

So let all who are fully mature have this same passion, and if
anyone is not yet gripped by these desires, God will reveal it to

Develop Your Gi

Each one of us is called and gifted by God for a specific purpose.
And God designed our gifts to make room for us to advance in our
callings so we can fulfill our purpose. Therefore, the degree to
which our gifts are developed determines the extent to which we
can advance in our calling.

Reflect
What are your God-given gifts?

How are you using your gifts to benefit others?

Are you consistently developing your gifts? How can you invest
more time to grow in them?
Read
A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great
men. (Proverbs 18:16 NKJV)

If you are uniquely gifted in your work, you will rise and be
promoted. You won’t be held back—you’ll stand before kings!
(Proverbs 22:29 TPT)

So let all who are fully mature have this same passion, and if

Do not neglect the gift which is in you . . . Practice and culti-

Seize Opportunity
Advancing to new levels usually occurs through the doorway of
opportunity, which opens a pathway to new possibilities. Life is full
of opportunity—life-defining moments orchestrated by God as He
works out His divine plan for our life. Moments that can forever
change the trajectory of them.

Reflect
What opportunities in your lifetime have you seized? How did
they help you advance in your calling?

What opportunities have you missed? Looking back, how do

you believe that missed opportunity affected your progress?

What opportunities stand before you? What action needs to

happen for you to seize them?
Read
I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest
runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior
doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry,
and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are
educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by
chance, by being in the right place at the right time.
(Ecclesiastes 9:11 NLT)

Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not.

“I am doing something brand new, something unheard of. Even

now it sprouts and grows and matures. Don’t you perceive it? I
will make a way in the wilderness and open up flowing streams

Unrelenting disappointment leaves you heartsick, but a sudden

good break can turn life around. (Proverbs 13:12 MSG)

Don’t Be Late for Your

Date with Destiny
When we’re late for an event or an appointment, we often miss out
on things we were supposed to experience. The same applies with
our callings. Many are missing out on what God has planned for
them because they are showing up late.

Reflect
Delayed obedience is disobedience. Are there any instructions
God has given you that you have delayed obeying? If so, why?

What area of your life hinders you the most from making
progress in your calling and why?

How have you been your worst enemy? Explain what limiting
beliefs, mindsets, or behaviors have hindered you from growing.
Read
Companions as we are in this work with you, we beg you, please
don’t squander one bit of this marvelous life God has given us.
God reminds us, “I heard your call in the nick of time; the day you
needed me, I was there to help.” Well, now is the right time to
listen, the day to be helped. Don’t put it off; don’t frustrate God’s
work by showing up late, throwing a question mark over every-
thing we’re doing. (2 Corinthians 6:1–3 MSG)

Jesus said, “No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put

God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day.” (Luke 9:62 MSG)

The fear of human opinion disables; trusting in GOD protects

you from that. (Proverbs 29:25 MSG)

Beware that your sins don’t overtake you and that the scars of
your own conscience don’t become the ropes that tie you up.
Those who choose wickedness die for lack of self-control, for their
foolish ways lead them astray, carrying them away as hostag-
es—kidnapped captives robbed of destiny.
