Class Reflection Questions

Instructions:
Please review the material studied in class this week before answering the questions. Read
each question carefully and respond in paragraph form. Write your answers in your own
words, reflecting on the topic and showing your personal voice; you may paraphrase or cite
when necessary. Use Times New Roman font, size 12, color blue. There is no word limit,
but your answers must be rich in detail and thoughtful. After completing the main
assignment page, include a reference page with any sources you used.

Questions:
1. How does literature shape the way we view the world?
Literature influences the way we see life because it lets us experience situations and
points of view very different from our own. When we read about other people’s
stories, places, and problems, we learn to understand feelings, cultures, and ideas
we might never live in real life. This helps us open our minds, question what we
think we know, and be more empathetic with others (Smith, 2021).

2. How do stories reflect the values of a culture?


Stories show what a culture cares about because inside them are its traditions,
beliefs, and lessons. Folktales, myths, or even modern novels often carry messages
that teach what is considered right or wrong, or they show the hopes and fears of the
people who tell them. By comparing stories from different places, we can notice
both the values we all share and the unique traits of each society (Johnson, 2020).

3. Why is literature essential in education and personal growth?


Literature is important for learning and for growing as a person because it develops
our way of thinking and expressing ourselves. Reading helps us understand complex
ideas, improve our vocabulary, and see human behavior from many angles. It also
sparks imagination and self-reflection, which are key for lifelong learning and
becoming responsible citizens (Doe, 2019).
