Q1. Read the following passage and answer the question

We often read media accounts about people who become heroes. We are often moved
and inspired by those of have risked their lives to save someone. Rarely does the
average person realise that there are innumerable opportunities that offer themselves in
which he can help someone.
Life presents individuals with umpteen chances of being generous. Once in a while we
come across persons who lead a life of righteousness and peity rather than a rich,
ostentatious lifestyle.
Once a wealthy man was working with his lawyer in preparing his will. The lawyer was
surprised at the amount of money the man had accumulated. Finally the man passed
away and waited for his judgement. He felt that he would be in heaven as he had been
so successful in life. He was confident of an after-life, which was as beautiful and
comfortable as his life on earth. He awaited the pleasures of heaven and a bliss, which
he thought he deserved.
When the turn came, the angel declared that the rich man had no place in heaven. The
rich man was shocked and said that he had been very successful in life and had
amassed a lot of wealth. He argued and pleaded. But all was in vain.
The angel replied that throughout his life, the man had served only himself. He never
gave anything to anyone. Heaven took those people who served others also. It was an
undeniable rule, which had to be followed by all heaven-seekers.
The purpose of this human body is to live for others. We can help others through
physical or intellectual service. For physical needs, we can fulfil the needs of life like
food, clothing or shelter. For intellectual service, we can teach the weak and help them
in studies. There are other ways of charity also.

The rivers, lakes and oceans filled with many mysterious creatures, have aroused
the curiosity of human-kind
Creatures, mild and ferocious have inhabited them. The intelligent human is forever, in
the process of delving deep into the mysteries of the ocean and making use of the
creatures.
The fish, a symbol of good luck, spirituality and activity are ubiquitous in many
cultures. They serve in many different ways.
The guppy in English is also known as the rainbow fish. It is beautiful and much
sought after, for a fresh water aquarium. It is also one of the cheapest fish in a shop.
It is a tropical fish, naturally found in South America. But now it has adapted to many
habitats all over the world. It can thrive in many different environmental and ecological
conditions.
Male guppies are smaller and brighter than the females ones. Their fins are
ornamental and multi-coloured. The female ones are much duller comparatively. Their
life-span is around two years. Their bodies often suffer from fungal infections.
Guppies have been introduced in many countries like China, Bhutan and Cambodia
for mosquito control. Once left in the stagnant water, the mosquito larvae forms a part
of its diet. This helps in controlling malaria and maintaining public health.

Hari was a poor woodcutter who would work in the forest the whole day. He had an old
axe made of iron.
One day, the axe fell into the river. Hari cried and cried as the had no money to buy the
axe. The River Goddess took mercy on Hari and came to him. She brought with her a
golden axe and asked Hari if that was his. Hari said no.
The Goddess disappeared in the river and brought forth a silver axe. She asked Hari to
take it. But Hari refused again and said that he wanted his own iron axe.
Then the Goddess dived again and came out with the iron axe. Overjoyed, Hari
stretched his hand for his axe. The Goddess was pleased. She gave the iron axe to
Hari, and along with it the gold and the silver axes as a reward for his honesty.
