Weekly Meal Budget Planning Guide

John Sharvic A. Española's performance task titled 'Food Saver: Planning my weekly meal budget' outlines a scenario where he spends ₱20 daily on lunch. He defines a function F(d) = 20d to calculate total lunch costs over a number of days and evaluates it for 1, 3, and 7 days, resulting in costs of ₱20, ₱60, and ₱140 respectively. The task emphasizes the ease of budgeting through multiplication rather than repeated addition.

Student Name: John Sharvic A.

Española
Date: July 21,2025
Performance Task Title: “Fooad Saver: Planning my weekly meal budget”
Format: Mini Poster (or Slide)

1. Real-Life Scenario
I spend ₱20 per day to buy lunch at school so I can have enough energy to focus on my subjects.
I want to know how much I will spend on lunch for a certain number of days in a week.

2. Function Rule
Let F(d) be the total load cost in pesos for d days
Function: F(d)=20d

3. Evaluating the Function

Total Cost
Number of Days (d) Function
(L(d))
1 F(1) = 2O(1) ₱20
3 F(3) = 20(3) ₱60
7 LF(7) = 20(7) ₱140

4. Short Reflection
Evaluating a function helped me plan how much I need for lunch. Instead of adding ₱20 again
and again, I just multiply. This makes it easier to budget my daily allowance and make sure I
always have food at school.

5. Optional Graph (Visual Aid)

(A bar graph or line graph showing number of days on the x-axis and food cost on
the y-axis: points at (1,20), (3,60), (7,140)
