Part 1:
1. What do you use the Internet for?
Well, I mainly use the Internet to entertain myself at leisure. Actually, I use social media
on the Internet on a daily basis, mostly about music videos. I have a habit of surfing the
Internet for online shopping. Moreover, I also use it for researching and carrying out my
study at school.
2. Does everyone have access to the Internet in your country?
Actually, I’m not sure. In my country, especially in big cities and urban areas, the majority
of people have access to the Internet. For example, each household in big cities mostly
have a broadband, which is a high-speed Internet connection. However, I’m not sure that
all people in my country are connected because there are still some people in rural areas
who don’t have enough conditions to use the Internet.
3. Do you think older people are scared of new technology?
I think so. It’s often assumed that the elderly cannot adapt for new technology
instantaneously, because they often think that Internet is strange. Some older people
love something is more primitive, traditional and manual than cutting-edge things.
4. Do you think young children should have smartphones?
I believe that they shouldn’t. Because they are too young, and if their parents don’t
educate well about the drawbacks of abusing smart devices at the early age, they will
probably be addicted to smartphones. As a result, they will be nearsighted and have
backache when they are too young.
Part 2: Describe a piece of electronic equipment that you find useful.
For me, the useful piece of electronic equipment is most certainly the smartphone. I usually
use it for keeping in touch with friends and entertaining. Actually, I’m a technophile so I
think that scientists have finally made the breakthrough of smartphone, which is mostly
useful for different functions. It is portable, light and stylish. The smartphone has a special
self-portrait feature that helps you send great photos of yourself right away. Moreover, its
camcorder will record crucial moments, so you can share them with friends. Besides
standard text messaging and phonecalls, it can help you connected through emails, video
calls and social networking apps.
