Dear student affairs officer (scholarships officer)

APPLICATION FOR PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLASHIPS

I am writing to express my interest in the presidential scholarships available for

community health nursing (mature entry). I am a man aged 31 who is currently
serving as a registered midwife at ntchisi district hospital. I graduated with diploma in
registered nursing in 2019 from st john of God college of health sciences. I also
graduated with certificate in midwifery at Kamuzu university of health sciences in
2024.

I got admitted to pursue Bachelors in community health nursing in the previous

academic year as shown in my admission later, but I requested to have my place
reserved for one academic year due to financial constraints. I am expected to join the
2025- 2026 academic year. This scholarship has come at the right time when I need it
the most.

I am very passionate in improving health in communities. I have always shown

interest in working with the communities in Ntchisi, I have volunteered in outreach
clinics into hard to reach areas where I have seen with my professional eyes that there
is a great need for community health nurse in Ntchisi. Currently we only have one
registered community nurse who is serving all the 16 heath centres including the
district hospital hence the need for more community nurses.

My goal is to gain knowledge and skills needed to make a positive impact in these
hard to reach areas. I believe with this scholarship I will be able to learn effectively
and contribute, meaningful to public health in Malawi

I will greatly appreciate if you consider me in this scholarship, I will not take it for
granted and I will make myself a national treasure to the community that I will be
serving and make a difference.

Yours Sincerely

RAPHAEL MALUNGA
