>Understanding Recount Text
"Recount" in the English dictionary means "telling", "Recount Text” means
"Text that tells
"recount text is a text that telling the reader about one story, action or activity."
Recount text is a text that tells about a story, action or
activity
Usually recount text tells an event or experience that occurred
in the past, for example, your experience of going on holiday or an experiener you
met
your idol artist. In contrast to narrative text, recount text does not contain
complications
or conflict issues
>Purpose of Recount Text
Meanwhile, the purpose of recount text is as follows:
“The porpose of recount text is to entertain or inform the reader."
The purpose of recount text is to entertain and inform readers
The communication purpose of recount text is to tell an experience or event
happened in the past with the aim of entertaining and informing reader
>Generic Structure Recount Text
Just like other English texts. Recount text also has an arrangement or structure
Generic Structure recount text consists of
1. Orientation: tells ahout background information about who, where,when the
incident or events occurred.
2. Events: tells an event that happened after it is told in order chrunningical.
3. Reorientation contains a summary or conclusion (summary) of all events. On this
section also contains the author's opinion or impression about the events being told.

1. Introducing personal participants: L. my group, etc
2. Use simple past tense
3. Using chronological connections: then, first, etc
4. Using linking verbs: was, were, saw, heard, etc
5. Using action words: look, go, change, ete
>Types of Recount Text
1. Personal Recount
Namely telling about the author's personal experience
2. Factual Recount (Facts)
Namely reports of events that actually happened, such as reports of scientific
experiments knowledge, police report.
3. Imaginative (Imagination)
That is, creating an imaginative story and then writing down the events or
occurrences that have happened happen.

My Holiday In Bandung

Last year, I went to Bandung. I spent my holiday there. I went to handung by train.
The train schedule from Cirebon was at 08.00 AM and arrived in Bandung at 12.00
AM
> Events
In the first day, I went to Bandung zoo because I loved animals. The ticket price was
only Rp 25.000. The animlas there was very complete.
In the second day, I went to geological museum and talked with the guide about
geology. It made me understood about geology. I saw rocks collection t there. After
that, I went to Bandung train station because I had to go home to Cirebon.

My holiday in Bandung was only two days but It was a very interesting holiday.

What is the function of recount text?
The purpose of recount text is to entertain or inform. In terms of social function,
recount text is about telling an experience or event that occurred in the past with the
aim of entertaining the reader.
Recount text is divided into 4 types that can be used for writing, including personal
recount text, imaginative, historical, and factual recount text. The use of this type of
recount text is adjusted to the purpose of the writing itself
