2. Short Story (Example)


“The Lost Wallet”
Ella was on her way home from school when she noticed a small wallet lying near the waiting
shed. She picked it up and opened it carefully. Inside was a school ID belonging to a Grade 10
student from a nearby barangay.

Instead of ignoring it, Ella went to the barangay hall and asked for help in finding the owner.
Thirty minutes later, a boy arrived with his mother, looking worried. When he saw his wallet, his
face lit up with relief.

“Thank you,” he said, almost breathless. “I thought I lost everything.”


Ella smiled. “Next time, keep it in a safer place.”

They all laughed, and Ella went home feeling proud. A simple act of honesty had made her day
brighter.

November 29, 2025 — Saturday

Today was unexpectedly fun. I helped my cousin prepare for the school program, and we ended
up practicing speeches together. At first, I felt nervous, but after a few tries, I actually enjoyed it.

We rewarded ourselves with ice cream afterward. I realized that sometimes, small things like
practicing or learning with someone can make the whole day feel special.

Banana Pancakes

Ingredients:

 2 ripe bananas
 2 eggs
 1 cup flour
 1 tbsp sugar
 1 tsp baking powder
 ½ cup milk

Procedure:

1. Mash the bananas in a bowl.


2. Add eggs and mix until smooth.
3. Stir in flour, sugar, and baking powder.
4. Pour in the milk and mix until the batter is well combined.
5. Heat a pan and pour a small amount of batter.
6. Cook until bubbles form, then flip.
7. Serve warm with honey or syrup.

“Why Schools Should Strengthen Reading Programs”

Reading programs in schools are no longer just helpful—they are necessary. Many students
struggle to understand texts because they lack strong reading foundations. This affects their

reading activities. When students develop good reading habits, they become more confident,
better thinkers, and more prepared for future challenges.

Improving reading programs is not simply an academic requirement; it is a commitment to the


growth of every learner. Schools must take this responsibility seriously.
