ACC 660 Module Four Executive Summary Activity Guidelines and Rubric

Scenario
Ada Nwosu, the inventory manager at the company where you are the controller, has asked you to email her an executive summary about the company’s inventory costing method
Nwosu is new to the company and wants to learn the rationale behind the company’s choice of an inventory costing method. She also wants your professional opinion on whether
chosen inventory costing method is the best one for the company.

This activity allows you to examine the differences between inventory costing methods and to choose the most appropriate method for a particular company.

Directions
Select one company from the options provided in the Supporting Materials. This cannot be the same company you plan to use for the project. Research the company to determine

inventory costing method the company uses and why. Then write an executive summary explaining your findings.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

1. Identify the inventory costing method your chosen company uses.

2. Discuss the advantages of your chosen company’s inventory costing method and the advantages of other inventory costing methods.

3. Discuss the disadvantages of your chosen company’s inventory costing method and the disadvantages of other inventory costing methods.
4. Explain why you think your chosen company’s inventory costing method is (or is not) the most appropriate method for the company.
