Drip! Drip!
I did sip!
A sip so vile from a tap’smurky drip — drip!
I sithere and weep!
The result of my slip!
Showing how my fortunes did flip
Deprived my nights of any sleep!
The result slip with a flip
Broadcasting my shameful reap!
Relaying the narrative of my troubles, deep!
I thought it was cool
To burn books after school
Now I know I was a fool
I sit on a rough road to school
A road Inever thought I would again stroll
I hold my box
An outwitted fox
Ploughing the road with my box like an ox
I wished the results were a hoax!
All my school stuff that I’d looked at like muck!
Repacked—in this rucksack that saddles my back
I creep back
Enslaved by the muck ofthe outcome of a test I did not hack!
Was it ill luck?
Or the evil one conspired behind my back!
Did doom on my door lurk?
Was Ian academic quack or a seating duck?
the best Igot was a D for the Duck!
On top of my list of shame
Is a shame that would make shame ashamed!
The game of numerical calculations
The subject of arithmetical
computations Mathematics,
I knew I would get ticks, pass with flying colors
But my results now stares at me in this pale slip
A telltale that all I did in school was to sleep
Worry not,
Read not,
Struggle not,
I have the perfect antidote,
Said my friend Billy
And Ibelieved him, silly
Iread not
worried not
Struggled not
Billy had the antidote!
The books I discarded
Hard work I disregarded
with answers I would be bombarded!
My past failures would soon be abraded
I implored the examination to be unguarded
O.M'riara
Like atap, drip drip!
I would get every sip
All would drip from the tap drip! Drip!
Promised Billy
And I— Willy being silly
Willingly
Believed Billy
‘Nothing will go astray ’ said Billy
everyday I was certain to say
Success tome would say not “Nay!”
I was sure of that A!
Without fear I decreed to become an engineer
Bioengineer, Chemical engineer
Or maybe civil engineer!
With flying colors results I would domineer
Among the successful I would be a pioneer!
I held my shin, turned my head
weighed if I’d opt to do
medicine! Success tome would
not say Nay I was sure of that A!
Drip! Drip!
From the tap the answers would drip!
The day ofthe examination
I was ready, rehearsing on how the entire nation
Would give me a standing ovation
For emerging top in the nation!
Tip! Tip! Came the text message
That was supposed to be make us wiser than the sage
Exam SMS alert, subscribed!
Answers inscribed!
Questions described!
Drip! Drip! Water imbibed!
Our intelligence was now revived!
The plan was smart
Billy set a Phone that was “Smart”
The phone—would make us all smart!
As financiers
We’d sent money to our enhancers
the taps were set to drip with answers!
To the examination room we went
Totally content
That we were success bent!
in came the examination paper
With my water, I could almost taste its vapor!
Drip! Drip
My name I wrote down.
O.M'riara
Ladies and gentlemen,
Confusion!
Illusion!
Delusion!
Retribution!
I was in a fix without a resolution!
Situation without a rightful execution
Here were questions
drip drip the tap gave the wrong solution!
In dirty waters I drown!
Drip! Drip! Drip!
Sweat on my body began to drip!
Drip!
made me envision
Success and great ambition,
Without the struggle of exam revision!
I paid a huge commission
And all I got was confusion!
When results came out,
I was without a doubt!
That the truth would prevail
And indeed the exam I did fail!
Look at this result slip.
All I did in school was to sleep
And wait for drip! Drip! Drip!
But,
Falling down
Made me down
All that pulled me down
In dirty muck Ino longer want to drown!
That’s why I have my box
Trudging like an ox
As I walk back to school
This time I will not be a fool.
Ino longer want that drip! Drip! Drip!
In the dark I have seen the light
At the end of the tunnel a light so bright
I am now a knight
Standing for what is right!
To school I am going back!
To overturn my setback!
I truly say unto thee
Learn from me
Don’t drink from the dirty sea!
Get what is rightfully yours even if it is a
eeeeeee No more!
Drip! Drip!
