SAFETY OBJECTIVES AND TARGETS PROCEDURE
1.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The purpose of this procedure is to define Safety & Environmental objectives and targets of AXIS.
This procedure covers all activities, products and services which can have significant hazards on the
safety of personnel and equipment and impact on the environment.
2.0 DEFINITIONS AND ABBREVIATIONS

IMS : Integrated Management System
CEO : Chief Executive Officer
MSDS : Material Safety Data Sheet
MR : Management Representative
PO : Process Owner
HSE : Health, Safety & Environment
Environmental Objective : A goal which is consistent with AXIS -Environmental
policy and which considers significant environmental aspects
and applicable laws and regulations.
Environmental Target : A performance requirement based on an
environmental objective. A target should be
met in order for the underlying objective to be met.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY
3.1 HSE Officer is responsible for defining safety and environmental objectives and targets
together with PO and CEO
3.2 Project Managers and Operations Manager are responsible for managing day- to-day
operations for achieving AXIS’s safety and environmental objectives and targets and develop
appropriate measures to track progress towards meeting the objectives and targets.
3.3 Project Engineers and Supervisors are responsible for implementing and meeting the goals
within their operational area. They are also responsible for communicating objectives and
targets and the means for achieving them to employees working within their operational area.
4.0 PROCEDURE
4.1 Safety & Environmental objectives and targets for each activity will be established in line with AXIS objectives
procedure AXIS-QA-OB-01. Objectives and targets will be consistent with AXIS’s IMS Policy.
4.2 In establishing objectives and targets, consideration will be given to:
4.2.1. Hazard Identification and Risk assessment
4.2.2. Legal and other requirements
4.2.3. Technological option.
4.2.4. Cost of risk reduction

4.2.5. Financial, operational and business requirements

4.3 Performance against objectives and targets will be reviewed at least every month by and
reported at the management review meeting. The management review will endorse the safety
objectives and targets.
4.4 The performance against objectives and targets is also communicated to employees via inter
office memos, tool box talks and bulletin board articles.
4.5 Any new or revised legal requirements to be complied shall be made as objectives and
systematically followed-up to achieve.
4.6 The objectives can be formed out of an Incident, Near miss or other lesson learned in order to
mitigate the same. These objectives shall be followed closely.
5.0 RECORDS
Hazard Identification and Risk assessment ratings for all activities. Audit reports.
Saudi Arabia Equivalent
Periodic review reports and reports of tests conducted by third party agency will be maintained by the
HSE Officer.
