PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

Executive Presence

Your learning journey begins with a set of two courses that develop your executive
presence, enabling you to elevate your leadership persona - become more relatable and
impactful as an authentic leader, reinforce your presence in any business setting, and
differentiate your narrative.

The Art of Storytelling

Professor Mihir Mankad

Course
In a world where attention is valuable and scarce, impactful storytelling is the key to
unlocking professional success. Effectively connecting and communicating with your
audience can help you collaborate better, build trust and resolve conflicts more efficiently.
Through this course on the Art of Storytelling, you will learn from examples of public
speaking experts and build the confidence you need to deliver inspiring business stories
that influence your teams positively.

About Course
This course on the Art of Storytelling is designed to teach you to communicate
effectively in a professional situation with confidence and creativity. You will begin with
theoretical concepts on content, credibility and building connections in a public speaking
context. We will combine this theoretical knowledge with real-life examples of impactful
public speakers. By studying the communication styles of renowned figures such as Steve
Jobs, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Shashi Tharoor, Amy Cuddy, Ronald Reagan, and
Dr Kiran Bedi, you will learn about the importance of building compelling story openings,
using soundbites and incorporating data for building credibility.

Building Your Personal Brand
Professor Mihir Mankad

Course
Creating a powerful brand persona can help you stand out in a crowded professional
landscape and be the key differentiator that sets you apart from the competition.
While you learn about the theories of brand building, you will also gain a deeper
understanding through real-life examples and case studies of successful personalities.

About Course
The course blends theory and practice. We will dive into cases and stories of people from
around the world, as well as from across sectors, who have built and sustained their
personal brands in a unique manner. You will be pushed, with exploratory and introspective
exercises, to create your brand narrative by understanding and articulating your strengths
and weaknesses. Real-life cases of people like Indra Nooyi, Zach Wahls, Shah Rukh Khan
and Kiran Sethi will be used to provide examples of how to create, sustain and even
rejuvenate your personal brand through effective storytelling. Sharp interviewing, as well
as the power of vulnerability to connect, will also be explored towards interactive brand
building. The learnings and exercises will enable you to differentiate your narrative of
yourself to become more relatable and likeable to your teams and stakeholders.

Decision-making

In the next phase, you move on to strengthening the analytical foundations of your
decision-making capabilities with two courses, Critical Thinking and Effective Negotiation
and Persuasion. The two courses will enable you to develop a thoughtful and reflective
approach to managerial decision-making and claim and create value across a range of
personal and professional contexts in a trustworthy and fruitful manner.

Critical Thinking
Professor Deepa Mani

Course
This course will introduce you to canonical decision models and emphasise how, despite
the availability and knowledge of data, our understanding of the world, intuition and,
ultimately, judgment are significantly influenced by several cognitive biases. Discover your
biases and patterns of thinking and how you can become a “slower” thinker and better
decision-maker.

About Course
When employees experience you as a leader or manager, they experience you as someone
with better judgment. This course will introduce you to canonical decision models and
emphasise how, despite the availability and knowledge of data, our understanding of the
world, intuition and, ultimately, judgment are significantly influenced by schemas or abstract
representations of events and cognitive biases. When we become aware of these influences
on our thought and intuition, we can avoid serious judgment errors that derail effective
decision-making and, ultimately, our progress.
