Individual Assignment #1 – Personal Reflection
Weight: 15% of Final Grade
This assignment is designed to help you reflect on your personal characteristics, skills,
and experiences, and how they impact your contributions in both individual and group
work environments.
Part 1: Self-Reflection – Your Work Style and Personal Characteristics
In 300-400 words, reflect on your individual preferences, skills, and tendencies as they
relate to a work or team setting. Your report should thoughtfully address the following
questions:
What tasks or activities do you genuinely enjoy doing?
What types of tasks or situations do you tend to avoid or dread?
When working in a group, what strengths, perspectives, or skills do you typically
bring to the table?
Which professional skills or behaviours do you excel at? Which ones would you
like to develop or improve?
In your own words, what is the difference between an innovator and an
entrepreneur?
Identify five traits you believe are essential for successful entrepreneurs. Why are
these traits important? Do you recognize any of these traits in yourself?
Part 2: Reflection on Group Work – Learning from Experience
Think back to two group experiences you’ve had—one that went well and one that
didn’t. These can come from academic, work, or extracurricular settings. In 200-300
words, write a reflection that addresses the following:
What specific behaviours or actions contributed to a positive group experience?
What behaviours or dynamics made the negative group experience challenging
or ineffective?
In your opinion, what key factors are necessary to foster a productive and
positive group dynamic?
Based on your self-assessment in Part 1, how can you use your strengths and
personal characteristics to help create a better group experience in future
projects?
