The provided bar chart illustrates the proportion of males and females playing various sports

in the UK in the year 2008.

It is clear that Netball was the most attractive sport to women, and Soccer was the most
popular sport among men. The opposite was true for Cricket for females and Netball for
males. In addition, the biggest difference was in the rate of both genders participating in
Netball.

As can be seen from the chart, almost 25% of males participated in Soccer, whereas the
percentage of females who took part in Soccer was only 5%. Furthermore, "Other" ranked
second with the participation of 20% of men, which was twice as much as that of women.
The rate of men who played Cricket was 10%, which was 8% higher than that of women.
Similarly, the figure for males who played Tennis was also higher than that of females.

Looking at the chart in more detail, most of the Netball players were women (about 25%), in
comparison with only 2% of men. Swimming also had a notable gender gap, with 23% of the
participants being females compared to 14% of males. The figures for both sexes for Tennis
and Basketball were similar, at about 6–7%. The percentage of both genders who took part in
Jogging was the lowest, at approximately 3%
