Engineering Drawing Concepts and Examples

The document contains a list of engineering drawing questions, including differences between various projection methods, definitions of terms like chamfer and sectioning, and practical drawing tasks. It includes both 2-mark and 10-mark question examples, such as drawing projections of a line and creating a plane scale. Additionally, it involves tasks like developing the lateral surface of a truncated cylinder and drawing isometric views of geometric shapes.

10 Marks question Example

A 90 mm long line is parallel to and 25 mm in front of the V.P. Its one end is in the H.P. while the other
is 50 mm above the H.P. Draw its projections and find its inclination with the H.P.
Create a plane scale that reads meters and decimetres with a representative fraction (R.F.) of 1/65
and is long enough to measure up to two meters. Mark a length of 2.7 meters on the plane scale.

A cylinder of diameter 40 mm and height 50 mm is resting on its base. It is cut by a cutting plane
inclined at 45° to horizontal and it bisects the axis of cylinder. Develop lateral surface of truncated
cylinder.
Draw the isometric view of a regular pentagonal pyramid of base edge 30 and height 50.
