1. Find the slope of a line which makes an angle 1500 with the positive direction of x-axis.

3. Find the equation of a line passing through (5, –3) and perpendicular to x-axis. Ans: y=-3
4. Determine x so that the slope of the line through the points (2,5) and (7, x) is 3. Ans: 20
5. Find the equation of the line passing through (–3, –7) and perpendicular to y-axis.
6. Find the equation of the line, with slope -1/3 & y intercept -4. Ans: x+3y=12
7. Find the equation of the line Passing through the points (4,3) and (3, -5). Ans: 8x-y-29=0
8. Find the equation of the line passing through (2, 2√3) and inclined with the x-axis at an
angle of 75o. Ans. (√3 + 1)𝑥 − (√3 − 1)𝑦 = 4(√3 − 1).

10. If the angle between two lines is 45o and the slope of one of the lines is ½, find the slope

11. Find the equation of the line passing through (–3, 5) and perpendicular to the line through
the points (2, 5) and (–3, 6). Ans: 5x-y+20=0.
12. The Fahrenheit temperature F and absolute temperature K satisfy a linear equation. Given
that K = 273 when F = 32 and that K = 373 when F = 212. Express K in terms of F and
find the value of F, when K = 0. Ans: F= 459.4
13. If p and q are the lengths of perpendiculars from the origin to the lines x cosθ – y sin θ =
k cos2θ and x sec θ + y cosec θ = k, respectively, prove that p2 + 4q2 = k2.
