ITC Reconciliation: Match your purchase invoices with the auto-drafted GSTR-2B to
claim correct ITC and avoid notices.
B2B Details: For B2B invoices, customer GSTIN auto-populates; for B2C invoices
>₹2.5L, details are required.
HSN Codes: Provide correct HSN codes for goods or Accounting Codes for services.
Reverse Charge: Mark the "Reverse Charge" checkbox if applicable.
Filing Frequency: File monthly (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) or quarterly (under QRMP
scheme).
Common Returns & Actions
GSTR-1 (Outward Supplies): Report all sales/supplies.
GSTR-3B (Summary Return): Summarizes sales, purchases, ITC, and tax payment.
NIL Return: File even if no business activity to maintain compliance.
Annual Return (GSTR-9): Summarizes the entire financial year's filings.
Important Reminders
No Revision: Filed returns cannot be revised, but errors can be corrected in
subsequent returns.
Deadlines: File before due dates to avoid late fees (₹50/day for GSTR-3B, higher for
annual) and interest (18% p.a.).
Return Blocking: Failure to file GSTR-1 may block GSTR-3B filing.
Filing Steps (General)
1. Login to the GST Portal.
2. Go to Services > Returns > Return Dashboard.
3. Select Period, Return Type, and Preparation Mode.
4. Enter/upload invoice details.
5. Reconcile data and generate summary.
6. Pay taxes if needed (Challan PMT-06).
