FAQs
Q. What is e-FRRO?
e-FRRO is an online service portal for foreigners to complete FRRO registration without requirement of visiting the office.

Q. Who is eligible for FRRO registration?


If the Indian visa has an endorsement stating ‘FRRO registration required’, applicant must complete the online registration formality within 14 days
of arrival in India.

Q. How to apply for e-FRRO?


Foreigners are required to create a User-ID for registering online on e-FRRO portal. This user-ID is required to apply for various Visa and Immigration
related services in India viz. Registration, Visa Extension, Visa Conversion, Exit Permit etc, without any hassle and obtain the service(s) without
visiting FRRO office.

Q. Are there any charges for the registration?


No charges are levied for registration. However late registrations are subject to penalty. The fee has to be deposited online through bank payment
gateway to the FRRO.

Q. Who will assist the applicant?


e-FRRO involves completely online application submission and document upload, for which no facilitation is required by any intermediary/ agents etc.
The foreign nationals are required to apply online by themselves.

Q. Whom to contact for immediate assistance during the application process?


Contact OIAC MAHE or FRRO Support Centre in Bangalore.

Q. Does the applicant need to visit FRRO office after applying online?
No. The applicant need not take appointment or visit FRRO office unless specifically called upon by the concerned officer.

Q. Do the services involve any payment?


Yes. Upon successful uploading of application and documents, the applicant would be intimated to deposit the requisite fee online, if any, based on
the service availed. The fee has to be deposited online through bank payment gateway to the FRRO.

Q. What happens if there is delay in fee payment or document uploading?


Applicant would be liable for prosecution/fines as per Indian laws, for any delay in fee payment/document upload/not attending interview etc.

Q. How to know about status of the application?


Applicants will be notified about the status at every stage of processing via SMS/Email. They may as well log in to e-FRRO dashboard through their
registered email-ID/password.

Q. What to do in emergency/exigency?
Applicant can approach the concerned FRRO office directly in case of exigency/emergency. Ensure that the services granted are electronic and not
manual to avoid hurdles at the Immigration Check Posts.
