TITLE : INVESTIGATION ON THE LAND POLLUTION CAUSED BY IMPROPER WASTE


DISPOSAL IN MANDLA LEARNING CENTER

Stage 1: Problem identification

Statement of the problem

Land pollution is a pressing environmental issue that affects the quality of land resources and
human health. This issue is affecting the health and well-being of students and teachers in
Mandla.

Statement of intention

To investigate the causes and effects of land of land pollution at Mandla and proper sustainable
solution and design a sustainable solution to reduce land and promote environmental
conservation.

Design Specifications

To reduce waste disposal in schools, there should be educational material like a poster guiding
students on how to dispose litters in school to reduce diseases and keep the place clean.

Stage 2 : Investigation on the related ideas to the problem

E XISTING INFORMATION

Causes of land pollution : Industrial, agricultural and domestic waste.

Effect of land pollution : Soil degradation, water pollution and health risks.

Solutions and best practices : recycling, burning, burying and composting.

Stage 3 : Generation of possible solutions.

- Implementing a school recycling program for paper, plastic and grass.

- Creating a school garden to promote sustainability and environmental awareness.

- Organise a clean up campaign to raise awareness about land pollution and promote Communit

Involvement.

- Education materials like poster should be displayed to keep the place clean.

Stage 4 : Selecting the most suitable solution.

Educational material (poster)


There should be educational poster all over the school encouraging students to always dispose
their litters in bins so it can be easy to be transported to the recycling company. There are only
two things needed and they are recycling bins and educational materials (poster). During my
investigation, l found out that the school already have recycling bins but students does not
follow the rules. I'm going to encourage them to keep the school clean by creating educational
materials like postors and paste it on walls so it will remind them to keep the place clean.

Stage 5 : Refinement of the selected solution

The educational material l created is working very well and students are now disposing litters in
bins and keeping the school clean.

In the future, if there is anyone who wants to reduce land pollution will create ather things like
bins or Organise a recycling programe and also creating poster. Creating posters is the easiest,
all you have to do is spreading them. During this process of creating a poster, they are some
challenges l faced like finding something that is going to convince students but thanks to my
friends everything went well.
