Notes

These notes highlight some of the key considerations used in calculating marks on this
template:

1. Example of a calculation:
In Math a student scored 10.5/20 in Unit 1 and 12/20 in Unit 2. Then the total marks for a
student in FA 1 = Unit 1 + Unit 2 = 22.5/40
Then out of 5 in FA 1, the student’s score will be = (22.5/40)*5 = 2.81/5
Post conversion, marks equal to or greater than .5 is rounded up e.g. since the score is
2.81, it is rounded off to 3

2. Project and Presentation marks are not considered when creating the below report and
are excluded from the FA calculation. If you require marks to be showcased for project
and presentation, please select a different template

3. If a student has marks for one unit out of the two units which are used for deriving the
total FA marks, then the total marks for FA will be derived from that one unit
For example, if student A has scored 10/20 in Unit 1 and no marks have been entered
for Unit 2, then in such a scenario FA 1 will only consider Unit 1 marks

4. If a student is marked absent in a unit, then in such a scenario that unit is not considered
when aggregating the student’s total marks
For example, if a student has scored 10/20 in Unit 1 and was marked absent for Unit 2,
then in such a scenario FA 1 will only consider Unit 1 marks

5. For every subject, term 1 column will have details only once data is available for FA 1,
FA 2, and SA 1

6. For every subject, term 2 column will have details only once data is available for FA 3,
FA 4, and SA 2

7. In the downloaded report, only those students against whom data is available will be
shown
